I took a ride recently to Aiyur Forest near Bangalore. It's an 80kms ride one way, to Aiyur Forest Rest House.
To make life more interesting, we did a ride to Panchapalli Dam from the forest Area
For anyone looking for a quiet and hilly ride through Forests, this is a to-do ride. We hardly encountered 2-3 other riders from Bangalore.
The bike performed well even with a pillion

Hi Everyone,

As the title suggests, it has been one month since I shifted to Bangalore and I am doing a "solo" ride to Chikmagalur on the 19th Aug weekend. I live in Sarjapur and as of now my plan is to entirely rely on the route Google Maps suggest. If seasoned riders have any suggestions about the route to take and what to avoid, I would appreciate it. Please note that I am still learning the names of the various roads and areas in Bangalore.

Also I will keep checking this thread if there are any rides over the weekends and strive to join in. I ride a 2020 BS6 Interceptor.

Roads should be good all the way to Chikmagalur so you can rely on the google maps and enjoy your ride.

Visited Devarabetta this Independence Day, a round trip of 150kms from Koramangala. Very interesting and a calm place.
Also, the bike crossed a milestone of 47000kms on the way.

After a long hiatus, I have started riding again. Did a ride to Yelagiri last weekend, planning to ride to Shivanasamudram tomorrow (link to the place).

Hi Aditya,

Didn't see this post. Will definitely join next time you ride. I have an Interceptor. I did a solo ride to Antharagange Cave and Water this Saturday for the trek. It was fun.

I have started doing solo rides based on the recommendations I saw on this thread and taking advice from locals. One of my first rides was to this place called Antharagange Cave and Water. Its supposed to be a medium difficulty trek but honestly the cave parts of it are a bit difficult and not for the elderly or unfit.

Also beware that Google Maps will take you to the incorrect locations which is Antharagange hills but that is quite scenic as well. To reach the trekking location, once you get off the highway you need to put in Kolar Bus Stand on your maps and as you approach it, there is a traffic signal. Stop and ask an auto rickshaw guy and he will tell you the road to take. No turns after that, the road ends at the trekking point.

Its about 70-80 kms from Bangalore and the highway, I believe NH 75 is excellent.
