Hey,

Can anyone tell me what's happened to the TVS Wego since it's launch.

I haven't seen one in the flesh, nor have I seen any ads and the TVS mini-site is still under construction. Has it been canned or anything like that?

I think it is not yet officially launched. It is not canned for sure as I saw a few this weekend in my nearest TVS showroom.

Yeah, hope it's not canned because it sure is the best looking scooter in sold in India today.

And at that price with telescopic suspension and big tyres, it's gonna beat Honda (hopefully).

Sorry to say but this is something that'll not happen any time soon

Larger tires, bigger comfy seats for people with bigger assets, and more storage space will certainly help beat competition.

What do you mean? Do you mean TVS not beating Honda or TVS not producing the Wego?

I was referring to the former. TVS (or any other 2 wheeler maker) not able to beat Honda. I wanted to Wego but it wasn't launched when I bought my Dio. It came after I got the delivery of my Dio. I have never felt so Humilated or lost in a sea of people in a showroom where there is no one to ask you to sit or to offer you a glass of water.

To describe what happens at most 2 wheeler showrooms after you walk in:

Company Name XYZ: (Her Honda, TVS, Bajaj)

Sales Exec: Yes, sir?
individual: Pulsar/CBZ/Flame hai?

Sales Exec: Have a seat sir...kya lenge? Tea or coffee

Honda Showroom

Sales Executive: You would be lucky to find one.
Individual: Shine
Sales Executive 20 days (Without offering you a seat or exchanging pleasanteries)
Individual: Activa
Sales Executive: 90 days minimum

and then starts talking like this " company se maal hi nahin aa raha hai" Or "Honda hai bhai, jaldi kaise milega"

Wego was launched oficially in November 2009, with full details including pricing. Since then, not a single bike has reached any showrooms in India. When they cannot deliver bikes, why would they launch? I am puzzled. People are waiting endlessly for this prodcut thinking that the Wego is launched and deliveries will be started soon.

I was also surprised in a similar way. Even after the launch, I haven't seen the Wego at a showroom, let alone on the road. Maybe they're waiting for RTO clearance.

They are missing a golden opportunity to take advantage of Honda's production problems. At least I hope Mahindra is.

I think the wego has not been launched yet! Have a look at their website. Its given "COMING SOON" and "SITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION".

genuine reason for sometime(may be for another 6 months) as Honda have set up another plant(can't remember the location)

Or "Honda hai bhai, jaldi kaise milega"

Any updates on the Wego? Looks very promising. Want to consider it compared to the Activa. Love the features.
