OT but could be very much interesting for Ford Ecosport buyers: The Linea T-jet has been relaunched and they have kept very agressive pricing:

Delhi Ex-showroom Prices

Linea T-jet Active : 7.6 Lakhs
Linea T-jet Dynamic : 8.4 Lakhs
Linea T-jet Emotion : 8.8 Lakhs

Will this not take away a good number of buyers from Ford, unless they price their machine really well- atleast the ecoboost?

I agree. I might go for tjet if i don't like what I see when ecosport is launched.

This is very very OT :uncontrol
The trend in India is proving otherwise, More Sedan buyers are going for bigger SUVs. But its a good day for our petrol heads isnt it. VW TSI, T-Jet and now EcoBoost. May be we will also see Rapid RS in that signature yellow some day.

This is OT but perfectly relevant in India. As GTO has mentioned time and again, cross shopping is rampant across various segments in our market.
We have Hatches and Sedans with GC that may put SUVs to shame eg. Linea, SUVs with ride quality that may put many Sedans to shame eg. Duster.
So higher GC is the new mantra for our famous roads.
I can give you my eg., I am a hardcore SUV fan but ended up buying T-Jet and my father-in-law is a hardcore Sedan fan but ended up buying XUV5OO with its car like ride.
But its hardly surprising to many.

I am sure plenty of these turbo charged petrol cars(over diesel) will be sold in Goa due to obvious reasons. clap:

I said OT because this thread is discussing ECoSport and all of a sudden we saw T-Jet

Talking about cross shopping ? I am confused between for EcoSport vs Amaze vs Ertiga. So i agree with you on that.

Autocar India's Ecosport Diesel review writeup was available earlier, below link has the youtube video.

@Vid6639 , any chance you guys are planning an official review of the automatic variant? That may be a great way to round up this excellent review.

What's cross shopping? :)

Jokes apart, I am confused between Ecosport, Polo GT, Vento and now Linea T-Jet. That's cross shopping!

Ok I am not really at cross shopping, but if Ford decides to price the EcoSport way out of the market, I am ditching this segment for the A class ! !

11th June launch info doesn't seem very credible now....
Has anyone been informed about the test drives? Anything this week?

What is Ford waiting for now? For XA Alpha from Maruti?

^ True. This really is turning out to be a Hum Apke Hain Kaun kinda long drawn out affair for what really is a high-heeled Santro. The boffins at Chennai is helping Renault in this whole torture. Show me the money, honey!

When's the launch? I thought it was today, June 11?!

Today is 12th June :)

I went to Harpreet Motors here in Gurgaon yesterday and the SE there told me the Ecosport will be launched around the 20th. He wasn't completely sure but also mentioned we can expect it anytime after the 15th.

He told me they're taking unofficial bookings already and that one showroom has about 80-90 bookings so far.

I called up Ford in Jaipur and even they are saying 20th June for launch of the car. They are not taking any bookings though.

The Ford Ecosport launch is one classic example of Indian Standard Time :)

There is a huge hypre surrounding it but the more it is delayed the more time its competitors get to sell their cars. And the situation can get grim for Ford if a competitor decides to up the ante and announce a sub 4m softroader!

Imagine a sub 4m Duster - that would really be a hard one to get over with for Ford. Get your act together, fast!

I was really interested in buying the 1.5 ltr petrol automatic.Just wanted to know is there any review on it so far ?
