This price will be a segment killer.

As per the price list the ex-showroom Delhi & the ex-showroom Thane (Maharashtra) prices are the same. In fact some of them are 1 rupee cheaper! How is this possible?

You should be considering Mumbai Prices which normally includes Octroi, now that Thane also has 5%Octroi.

The prices should be 559000 + 27950 = 586950/-

Mumbai Price 559000 + 27181 = 586,181 /-

Cheers

Firstly kudos to Ford this spectacular pricing! This also surprise me how other OEMs specifically Maruti,Toyota, Honda have been making fool of consumers by keeping there car prices so high.

Suddenly cars like Swift Diesel, i20 Diesel, Amaze, Etios, Duster seems to be expensive.

Ford has actually burst the bubble of ridiculous pricing by other OEMs.

What brilliant pricing by Ford!! clap:

This makes it 2 in a row for today. First by Bajaj for the KTM 390 (though it came out yesterday) and now by Ford for the EcoSport!! The EcoSport is now maximum BANG FOR BUCK

:OT The turbo petrol segment has suddenly gotten so much more interesting now - The T-Jet, Polo TSi, and now the EcoBoost!!

compare all the variants of ecosports, hope this helps fellow bhpians to zero in on their choice of variant

Absolutely killer pricing. Kudos to ford not getting super greedy given the hype around the ecosport.

I hope it teaches the blokes at Renault a good lesson. Duster's pricing was ridiculous given overall build & interiors.

Completely agree with you. Excellent job and Fantastic pricing by Ford guys.clap:

I'm sure it will leave the Duster 85 PS version in dust. Also, expecting the petrol version to kill the premium hatchbacks and entry level sedans for sure.

I mean, why would any one pay 7 lacs OTR price for a small car when they are getting a mini SUV for that price with good ride height which is much suited for Indian roads and a larger boot space compared to all hatches and most of the sedans?

Looks like Ford is having problem in updating the price in their web page.

Amazing prices, but my sense is that the demand explosion will lead them to up prices by at least 20-25 k within 6 months. So serious buyers, gotta hurry up!

Have a feeling that we'll end up seeing a lot of these cute little monsters on the roads in the coming months. Good job Ford India... You learned!!! :)

I saw a TDCI Titanium model at Planet Ford Showroom in Pune. Got a detail brocure as well. SA told me that the Ambiente Petrol is priced at Rs. 5.59 Lacs Ex Showroom and the top model Titanum Petrol is priced at Rs.8.44L Ex Showroom.
Did not like the interior plastc finish which they say Charcoal Black with Grey combi. The interior plastic looks cheap even cheaper than some other small car/Hatches have.
The boot space looks good. Rear Seats are comfortable for 2. In the front AC vent is protruding out in the way of ingress. If you see carefully before entering in - it looks like you have very less space to ingress. Dash plastic also of same quality so looks cheap.
Brochure says Ecoboost has 125 ps @6000rpm and 1.5L Diesel has 91ps@ 3750 as engine output. Torque is Ecoboost - 170@1400-4500rpm and for Diesel it is 204@2000-2750rpm .
Basically Titatinium versions are equipped with all major features which are expected from a good SUV/ Luxury Sedan. Definitely more than Duster . Diesel is priced competitively and now Duster / XUV /Xylo Ertiga will surely feel the heat.
Regards,

Went for a test drive yesterday of the 1.0 P and 1.5 D versions. Was pleasantly surprised at the nifty nature of the 1 liter engine. Wasn't underpowered and didn't shudder when I let go of the accelerator at about 100 kmph in 3rd gear! Was super happy with the interiors for sure, and the AC in the midday Delhi sun chilled even the rear passengers at a climate control setting of 22 degrees C! What's more, the two rear passengers had more than enough leg room and I'm about 5 feet 8 and a half inches tall with an averagely posed driving position.

If I wasn't so hell bent on getting a massive SUV, this pricing and overall features of the car would've been a deal clincher without a second thought.

Ford what in the world have you done with the pricing of the Ecosport! This is Christmas/Diwali come early folks! Ford has done what other car manufacturers were too conservative to do! Go Ford go!!!

Awesome pricing. Ford has let out a war whoop and landed straight between the segments! Apart from the obvious target (duster), ecosport will take the fight on to both C1 and C2 sedans and premium hatches.
Hope they will be able to meet the demand without absurdly long waiting periods. Cant wait for a TD now..

Yeah. Even I had a test drive of Ecosport diesel version a couple of days ago. (Demo vehicles have arrived before the launch and the dealer himself called me for a TD.)

I'm 5'10 and despite my relaxed driving position, my friend who is 5'9 could sit comfortably behind driver's seat. I should say the legroom is decent for an average built person.

And I was surprised to hear people saying it's a strict 4 seater when 5 of us sat in the car in relaxed positions (we 3 people in the backseat are slim built though).

1 thing I liked the most about the rear seat is - the recline of the seat can be adjusted. :D
