As per Tata Motors RSM, they are working to produce cars as per orders and backlog will be cleared soon and have been told that I will be getting my car in next 15 days. (I am getting similar answers for almost a month now )

I will be waiting for a week and after that I may look for other options. Will keep you updated if I get any confirmation on my delivery.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

A great news for Tata Motors. Mr. Mayank Pareekh is moving to Tata Motors as President of Passenger Cars division. Hope he can bring the much needed focus on customers (after all they are the ones who actually bring in the moolah) and off course on sales and after sales aspect of TML, which frankly needs a big boost to make Zest a long term success, or else may end up like Skoda, having great car but shoddy sales and after sales.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

Today when I asked the SA as to when I will get my car he informed me that TATA is not manufacturing XMS at the moment. He said that they will now increase the price and then launch it again. I was about to shout on him but controlled my anger. Will talk to some other dealer as to when can he get the XMS delivered.

Do not worry, TATA knows about the phase they going through and can not risk themselves in such cheap tactics. It's dealer strategy.

Even initially one guy from TATA dealership told me that XMS and AMT model will require almost 30 k to 40 K accessory pack that consumer has to buy for timely delivery in future just like in happened for swift in initial days however he felt apologetic after hearing my response.

TATA must keep a check on it's dealer attitude, its important.

Dont believe the dealer, ask Tata Zest FB page or twitter id. The dealer is just trying to say something so you will buy the model that will be available.

In my case XT was not available initially, so dealer tried hard to push XM/XMS to me!

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

Friends check this link from another automotive forum , there is indeed an issue of dirt getting in engine bay (rest of reported issue could be for that car only)

Not sure if this same for Diesel and Petrol model. I will try to check mine asap.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

Did anyone experience any issues like mud/dust being thrown into the engine bay or headlights. I read in some sites that mud was entering the engine compartment due to some gap in the wheel cover. I am yet to get my car so have not seen this personally but wanted to check with people who have taken delivery of their zest.

The link is not working, but yes, I have seen the pics and read about this issue from a QJD Zest customer, Harish Km on official FB page 'Zest from Tata Motors'.

Seems TML is aware of this issue as they have seen same issue in some other cars now and promised resolution for this issue. It is a bit surprising to know this issue has cropped up, considering TML have mentioned that Zest has been extensively tested in all terrains for 4 lac kms.

Got a link to one of the initial ownership reviews on TAI, where the owner (Zest XM Revtron) also mentions about mud entering engine bay and also some issues with horn not working and remote boot and fuel lid opening mechanism failing. More concerning was a mention about ABS failure and subsequent fixing by Bosch. Seems like QA issue is still present with Tata.

http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/fo...-review-5.html

Eagerly waiting for reviews from our own Zest owners to hear about their experience.

Have seen the pictures, i would say from my experience with the MANZA , i would not be reading too much into it .
I have seen such accumulation of filth on many cars at my friend's accessories store.

Also on that particular website if you read other posts around , there seems to be other glaring issues also present (which are hard to trust),
i would say that website is no teambhp by any means and i would not get swayed by what is getting posted there.
Afterall teambhp quality is rare you know...
Ofcourse as a potential buyer everyone has to make sure before spending/ investing on a zest.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

Saw a post on another forum where a person had booked Zest revtron XT Dune Beige last week and got order confirmed. Mailed the screen shot to Tata RSM and he told that since it was XT, they were able to get it delivered, so I gave up on my request for XMS (Which is a pure VFM) and told I was ok with XT (Higher margin for TML with only about 25k worth additional accessories but costs Rs 65K extra) got a confirmation that my order has been placed and will get delivery in next 10 days.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

yup.. I too had a similar reaction, I am waiting for 2.5 months and nothing was happening. The dealer is Concorde Motors, Mysore Road and the person completed the payment on 27th Sep. I am pasting the link below, check the post from don.lohith

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

All those who have booked Zest, after how many days did you receive confirmation whether a car has been allocated against your order?

I have booked on 16th Sept, but even today, the dealer is not in a position to give me any further details nor confirm exact delivery date.

Is it the norm or I am missing something??

A few pointers will be helpful.

I booked on 26th July & didnt get a confirmed delivery date until first week September. Dealers dont seem to have a clue of what allotments they are getting until a lot is actually dispatched from the factory to them. Tata needs to put a good system in place, but to be fair, no manufacturer in India does.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

Ok.
This is sad.
My query popped up after I came across 2-3 posts on http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/fo...review-21.html saying that those guys at least got engine & chassis nos within 4-5 days after booking. Nothing such in my case.
So was a bit confused.
