Yes, it does. And it is very similiar/smooth to what we have seen on other TC AT, CVTs etc.

It is not very aggressive. On a flat road, if you let go of the break, it will take a second to start moving. The acceleration is not sudden that you plough into the vehicle in front of you. You can easily manage the speed/bring to a halt with a light feet on the brake. Very useful in bumper to bumper traffic.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

I apologise for posting this here as I am unable to post this on the original thread. @Mods, please move the post if required.

I have an Ignis Alpha 2023 model that has run close to 22k km. I was wondering if I should use the service of Wheels Wisdom for the next service, which leads me to my questions:

1. Will they take my vehicle to MASS (which is what I prefer)?
2. Is it worth using their services (pickup, drop, peace of mind, etc.) for a vehicle under warranty?

I stay near Bannerghatta, where there is an Kalyani Arena service centre, but I am hesitant to give my vehicle after my ordeal last time, where my front windshield was broken: https://www.team-bhp.com/news/maruti...onths-11500-km
I got my last service done at a Kalyani Nexa service centre off Mysuru road, which was far.
Hence, I am contemplating using their services. Any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Hi!

Reposting this from "Aircons! Demystifying the car air-conditioning system" since I didn't get any response there so here is my query.

I have Ignis Zeta AT Dec 2020 model.

Now since it's monsoon and the road conditions being very poor, I will seldom drive it till winters. It sits Idle and I run the engine for 5-6 mins every 3-5 days with aircon running for few minutes.

I am facing this hissing sound from my car air conditioner when fan is at full speed of 4. There's no sound at fan speed level 3 or below. It sounds like a pressure cooker going off.

Can anyone help me diagnose the issue and if it requires immediate help please?

1. The noise is only when the mode is on outside air in mode.
2. The fan speed has to be at max speed i.e. 4
3. Strangely the sound disappears when I lift up the window switches
4. The sound reduces (not disappears) when I roll the windows down.
5. No sound at all when in inside only air recirculation mode.

Please help!

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Hi Guys,

I need suggestions for a good fully synthetic engine oil for for my 2023 ignis. It has run 28k kms till now and uptill this point the engine has only tasted cheap ec star mineral oil. So im looking to upgrade to a good fully synthetic option. So far i had found Castrol magnatec 0w20 and total quartz 9000 future gf6. I searched for shell helix ultra series oil but shell only has 5w 30 and my user manual recommends only 0w20. Please provide some suggestions guys.

Shell Helix HX-8 0W-20 is part of Shell's portfolio in India and is available at Boodmo (online). I'm sure you'll find it at their local retailers as well.

Don't fret too much about a "good" 0W-20 oil. Maruti recommends 0W-20 as long as it meets API SL/M/N specification (API SL & SM are obsolete now).

All top-tier lubricant manufacturers offer great products (Shell/MOBIL/Castrol/Valvoline/Liqui Moly etc.), what you need is to pay close attention to the specifications recommended by the OEM in your owner's manual.

This is coming from someone who has worked in the Lubricants sector for over 25 years (Shell, British Petroleum, etc.).

I'll leave a parting comment; lubricants is a very polarizing topic and you have many self-styled oil gurus on the internet; take their opinion with a pinch of salt and stick to OEM recommendations. They have designed the engine of your vehicle and know what's best for the particular application in question.

Drive safe!

Thanks vikram for your quick response, i checked boodmo for shell helix 0w20 but its semi synthetic oil only. Where as 5w30 shell helix hx8 is fully synthetic , so i wonder if there is no fully synthetic version for 0w20 from shell. Im planning to get Castrol magnatec or one from shell. I have always used fully synthetic oils on my bikes and they give very easily noticable improvements compared to mineral oils. So i want to feel the same with my car.Can you provide any product link if you have seen fully synthetic options from shell for 0w20 oil.

And yes i always stick to the manufacturer recommended especially for cars. Our last car , a 2014 swift dezire ran 90k kms in ec star engine oil only without any issues. Wish i could have given her a teste of fully synthetic oil atleast once

No manufacturer can blend a semi-synthetic 0W-20, this viscosity grade will always be fully synthetic.

Boodmo's link: https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-engi..._oil-55834968/
The description clearly says "Shell Helix HX8 is a Fully Synthetic motor oil".

For the future, please raise lubricants-related issues in the appropriate section of the forum.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

I am out of the car modifying scene since quite some time, and my aunt reached out for help.

She is 60+ and needs a reverse camera in her 2019 Ignis Zeta AMT for driving ease. She stays in Gurgaon/Delhi NCR and I want to recommend good quality hardware and someone trusted to install it.

The car has reverse parking sensors, but the car audio unit does not have a screen. I prefer not drilling a hole in the bumper for the camera and instead get a hidden camera above the number plate. And of course, minimal wire tampering/cutting.

What are my options?

1. Change audio unit to with screen and attach camera - but I do not know which are the durable and cost effective ones these days
2. Get a small separate screen only for the reverse camera
3. Get a small screen integrated in the rear view mirror

Please go through my post : https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/car-e...ed-review.html (Installing a Tesha 9" Android Screen, Dash Cam, Problems Faced and Review)

Using this from almost a year. Very happy with it. Costed me within 9k with installation.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Guys, is the "MCP" package for Ignis required ? The one that covers servicing, and is worth 3 services IIRC

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Hi All - need inputs on one thing, is there a chance MSL will come with a facelifted IGNIS in October 2024 or early 2025? I read this here: https://www.v3cars.com/maruti-nexa-cars/ignis-dual-jet
but not sure.

Wondering why it would not upgrade to the latest Z series engine instead of Dual Jet. A lot of speculation, but no clarity.

I am eager to know this as IGNIS is quite up in my list of cars from which I will pick one for my wife's city use.

Saw this month old message of yours went unanswered.
Wheels Wisdom has shut shop https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/banga...ml#post5830569 (Service Assist - Managed car servicing from WheelsWisdom.com (Bangalore))

The tune of the current K12 current engine in the Ignis is actually good. So even among 1.2's in other Maruti's, this looks the better one for driveability.

The new engines are 3-cyinder, and 1 litre (IIRC). A 3-cylinder engine at this price range at least, will not be as smooth as a 4 cylinder 1.2.

So, if you like the car, get it !
