Just a heads up - if you upgrade to 205 sections, the steering will become heavy for low speeds. I have been using 205/55/16 Continental UC6 from last 28K kms.

Hi Sinharishi I was planning to do the same tyre size upgrade as yours (205/55 R16) but I heard that the wheel rubs?? Should I go for 205/50 instead? Thank you.

No, I haven't experienced this. If it was the case, I would have seen some marks on the tyres.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Need some advice people, i am looking for a used car in good condition, and somehow couldn't seem to like cars apart from Škoda-Volkswagen, came across this Polo Gt, November 2020 registered and has done 30k kilometers. The condition of the car is pristine with no damages or scratches, the interiors are good too.

Have checked the car history, car has been regularly serviced and maintained at a VW dealer, with a new tyre and new brake pads, the car drives well too. It is under warranty as well. The owner has installed the original arm rest and reverse camera and has a service package purchased too

The car is at a Volkswagen dealer only, they are asking 9 lakhs for it after negotiations, the car was i think around 12 lakhs when new.
So what's your suggestion, is it a well decision to buy a polo now?

Considering the conditions & the running warranty its a fair price , current used market prices are insane and even more insane to find a clear car. I think you should grab before someone else does. Do check if the dealer can help you get additional extended warranty assuming this AT & Not manual GT

Last edited by Gotham : 22nd July 2023 at 10:52. Reason: Meant to write AT & Instead of DSG

This is not DSG, it has the 1.0 TSI with 6 speed torque converter, it is under warranty for 1.5 years and warranty can be extended as well.

9 lakhs for a 30,000 km run Polo GT TSI, with new tires, brake pads, reverse camera, armrest, and service package seems to be a fair deal, considering the car cost 12 lakhs in 2020-21 and you are purchasing it from the dealer.

I realised it after responding and corrected it. Like I said it's a good deal in current scenario and I honestly can think of another hot hatch that's as fun to drive as this. Do take the extended warranty and keep munching miles

Just 1 tyre new, not all, but car is maintained and drives well.

Is it TC gear box or DSG?
If its a TC would say go ahead and buy it. I recently bought a 2021 Polo (TC) and it's been a pleasure to drive the car so far. My positives and negatives so far.

+ Will always put a smile on your face when you are driving.
+ Well sorted driving dynamics. I don't think any other car under 20L matches
Polo/Vento/Rapid in terms of the driving dynamics. Not even new
Virtus/Slavia.
+ Aggressive creep makes driving in city a breeze
+ Well sorted highway manners.

- Space, i am a 6 foot guy, there isn't enough space in the back when i drive
the car
- Though its a 5 seater, fitting more than two person in the rear will not be
comfortable.
- Not a family car, it's purely a drivers car.

If the rubbing happens, it would be most likely on the inner side of front tyres (when springs get compressed and turning sharply at the same time)

Luckily i'm only 5'7 so no issue of car being small for me, and normally we are only going to be 2 people in the car, so no issues with the back seat.

Then go for it. You will not regret the driving experience.

Does it have to be a hatchback or are you open to sedans and crossovers?

Dealer will be getting 30K on this deal.

They know that this car is mod friendly (thanks to several YouTube Channels). They also know that it's not available new. They know that the Youtube videos have created a hype so demand is there.
Thats the explanation for the price.

If you want a Polo, then it is. If you want a car then maybe.

Or just grab a car from a higher segment at the same price (ex. Octavia 1.8 TSI).

Will keep an eye when I rotate the tyres. Haven't noticed anything yet. Isn't 205 max. Width that 6J alloy wheels can support? So should be within the limits?
