My wife (who's primary car the Polo is), has poor left front clearance. Second time in a year she has managed to bang it there. This time on a small partially cut tree stump. Unfortunately the damage done is that, the bumper along with the skid plate and mounts gets broken and has to be replaced.
I am sure front sensors will help, just wondering about the cost involved and a place to get it done in Pune.
There's a thread on this, he has done it himself. Maybe you can contact him and he can give you some references.

Is there any way to prevent the MID getting locked after 80kmph? Any VCDS options?

Yes, the MID can be unlocked after 80kmph through VCDS.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

The flanker had its first service last month. Took it to BU Bhandari Pune for the service. There were 2 issues i had with the car:

- Rear doors not shutting with the reassuring thud
- The centre armrest (which broke)

Spoke to Rupesh from Wakad SC and he scheduled the car for the maintenance within 4 days. The service check in was very quick. 5-mins and he understood the issues and informed me that the armrest wont be available for a few days at least. For the doors, he said he will apply a gel which should take care of the thuds.

The work carried out was exceptional and the doors are doing just fine now. Looks like the armrest is in demand all over the country and the production might not start till January 2023. So that is the pending part. All in all, the service was a breeze.

Post the service I have taken the car for close to 1k km drive and it has been amazing. More on that later. Leaving you all with the scanned copies of the 1st service invoice.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Any reviews of Philips RacingVision GT200 or Osram Night Breaker Laser as replacement bulbs for the Polo? These brands make pretty hefty claims (up to 200% brighter). Some reviews mention that they're not much brighter than OE lamps. Can anyone describe their experience with these? Especially for the Polo, since the stock lamps are just pathetic.

I tried the Nightbreaker while selecting bulbs at Arihant Car Accessories, near Milan Subway. They were ordinary. I went for DHC 4300k LED. Performance video is in this thread above and other threads too. Go for these if they fit your budget.

Does this void the warranty?

I have used RacingVision GT200 extensively on my Polo. They were a tad brighter than stock halogens but didn’t last than more than year.

No. Does not involve any cutting of wires- it's plug and play, except that you need the correct adaptor. Please see my relevant post in other threads for this.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Took mine for the 2nd year service today(29k).

SA says brake pads require an instant change.
Shall I get it changed at the authorized service center? They're quoting around 2500 (labour inclusive) for both the front pads.

Comes as a surprise though as I BARELY use brakes. Though the car was chauffeur driven till 16k. Can leaving the car stationary for days after wash be culprit?

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Could someone post clear pictures of their headlight filament orientation for low beam and high beam if you're still on stock bulbs? I recently upgraded to the Philips RacingVision GT200s for both low and high beam, but I might have reversed the orientation of the filament for the high beams. Just want to cross-reference it.

Would an image just taken from the outside suffice?

There is a protector/cover for the low beam which comes in the way of taking clear photos.

Here’s an helpful tip though - for the low beam bulbs, the filament should be like it is facing downwards. And for the high beam, it’s the opposite of the low beam — filament facing upwards. Same alignment is recommended with LED bulbs as well.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

There is a lot of wind noise in the cabin of my Polo Highline 2022 model. I was able to locate the source of the noise to the window weather seals. And possibly the door seals as well. A few months ago there was an ant infestation inside the door seals and I'm not sure whether the ants attacked the velvety surfaces. I guess it could possibly be that.

Or it could be that this noise has always been there and I'm just noticing it now, maybe some amount of overreaction on my part is possible too. Anyway, I downloaded a decibel meter app from the play store and measured the noise level in the cabin today. On average, the cabin noise was ~85dB at 100 kmph - 110 kmph speeds. Can someone please measure and confirm these values in their car? If my values are off, I might need to highlight this when I take the car for servicing next month. Thank you!
