Yes, I could finally resolve this issue after spending a lot of money! The dealership took nearly 20 days to diagnose the issue, and 10000 rupees of diesel was spent during this time.

It was a rat bite in multiple wirings that was causing this issue. I faced two issues: the engine powering off intermittently when the clutch was used and frequent DPF errors(less than 40 km) even during highway rides.

So they replaced all the wiring and the EGR valve, which had fixed the issues. Please DM me if you have additional queries.

Overall, it was a pleasant drive and I am enjoying my experience with the Sonet.
So, I completed my 1st year- 3rd free service at 6100 kms. This included oil change, wheel alignment, balancing, rotation, general check-up, car wiping (washing not allowed by BBMP)
The experience was pretty smooth. The appointment was booked about 3 weeks back, I opted for free home pickup and drop. The designated driver came at the promised time and took the car.

KIA formed a wsapp group the previous day including the service advisor, service dept. The assigned SA regularly put up pictures of the car being received, oil changed, brake cleaning etc. They initially quoted Rs.4800 incl some 3M AC disinfectant, which I refused. The total bill came upto Rs.3300 incl taxes. Major line item was: Oil (~1300), WA,WB,TR, weights etc (~1300) and some minor diagnostic charges, oil filter and taxes.

When the SA asked f there were any issues with the car, I said none. As far as I recall, this was the first time I didn't have any issues to report in my ownership of multiple cars over the years

My mileage has slightly gone up to 10.4 kmpl now in city conditions. I mostly drive conservatively and during non peak times for office commute.

KIA's quality of the car and service has been top notch. Would like to callout VST KIA-Yeshwantpur for their impeccable service, courtesy, responsiveness, warm responses to queries and transparency in the service. Will rate them 10 on 10.

Overall a happy 12 months ownership of my KIA Sonet 2023, HTX iMT 1.0 petrol.

When I was looking to buy a new car a year back, was considering Maruti only to experience the service. Now happy that I chose KIA and they have fully delighted me.

Re: Kia Sonet : Official Review

Hi,

Did KIA change how DPF works in new facelift diesel versions?

I have someone just tell me, they have added Adblue tank to them. I can't seem to find any details on this online.

Can someone please confirm this?

Re: Kia Sonet : Official Review

Hi,

I have been trying to download the KIA Sonet Manual for the last 5 months from the below link.

https://www.kia.com/content/dam/kia2...eb_Version.pdf

https://www.kia.com/in/service/custo...rs-manual.html

The downloaded file always fails to load across multiple devices (laptops, desktop and Mobile) and OS(Windows, Mac, Android).

If anyone has downloaded a valid PDF manual, please share it here?

I had downloaded PDF version in 2022, but it's around 110MB. Can't upload to forum due to size restrictions.

Let me know options to share it.

Re: Kia Sonet : Official Review

Hi all. I wanted to fold my rear seat for carrying some cargo. Can someone please guide what lever one must press for folding it ? Mine is 2021 HTX iMT variant. I guess it does not get 60:40 split.

None of the 2021 variants have a 60:40 split. There are straps/pins on the top of the seatback; towards the sides, near the headrests. Early 2021 models have a strap, but the later ones have a pin instead. You can fold the seatback by pulling the straps/pins up and then pushing down the seatback forward.

I’ve marked the straps on a photo from the official review:

Re: Kia Sonet : Official Review

Hi,
I'm looking for some inputs from you people.
I'm planning to buy my first car and am more inclined towards buying a Sonet 1.5 diesel (Ford's 1.4 TDCI made me fall in love with the diesel engine) but many of my friends are against it.
As most of the time I will be using it in city, Highway runs will be monthly once or twice a month. Is it wise to buy Diesel with this driving pattern and any inputs on DPF issues are welcome.
If I buy, what are the measure I should take to prevent DPF issues?

Hi,

I have Oct 2020 model D AT, I have driven 45000km and not seen DPF issue even once. My driving is in Bengaluru city and Highway drives once in 2-3 months. I don't think it will be an issue if you take highway once a month for sure.

Thank you brother, what is the cost for paid service? was there any unusual issues you faced so far.
