From the picture above, I can see that the new car is registered with Thrissur RTO (KL-08). Is there a Citroen Dealer in Thrissur or is this from Kochi ?

Citroen has just one dealer in Kerala and that's in Kochi. The next two will be opened shortly in Trivandrum and Kozhikode.

Re: Citroen C5 Aircross Review

Congratulations to the owners, this will be a very exclusive car on the roads, just like the new 5th gen Honda City!

We'll all be waiting for your ownership reviews on TBHP soon.

Re: Citroen C5 Aircross Review

Looking forward to reading ownership reviews on TBHP shortly. I hope they do well or go the VAG way of discounting niche models few months down the line to make it a more attractive proposition for serious buyers.

Citroen India's mistake #78 . They are selling a premium-priced product that will be mostly in urban markets, and not a single picture of a woman taking delivery.

I used to think that the French know little about marketing in India. I was wrong. They know NOTHING.

Re: Citroen C5 Aircross Review

The new Volkswagen Tiguan petrol is now planned from 28 ex-showroom. Now c5 aircross with diesel 2.0 engine at 30 ex-showroom becomes at par alternative for mile munchers. Basically in this segment seems there is a competition to put rediculus ex-showroom price. :-(

Anyone wanting to buy should wait for 6 months. Discounts will start. Maybe 6 months old VIN, but that should not be an issue for anyone planning to hold the vehicle for 7-8 years minimum. Then these can be had OTR near the current Ex-Showroom prices.

Re: Citroen C5 Aircross Review

Citroen should have started off with production from the Stellantis plant in Ranjangaon. This would have saved them quite a bit of capex and helped them increase utilization of that plant rather than investing in a new facility for a relatively low volume car. This would have helped them price the C5 more competitively and give it a fighting chance in the market.

Re: Citroen C5 Aircross Review

Citroen is offering 100% finance options and 5 year warranty, roadside assistance, maintenance and assured buyback price for Aircross.

If Citroen has priced it competitively then they wouldn't have to resort to such options.

With the pandemic, the footfalls to Citroen showroom will be abysmal. Bad way to enter the market.

All the options are available from day 1 but at an extra price. It will be a sweet deal if they offer a 5-year warranty + service/ maintenance the current OTR price.

IMO, This is a good start considering all the difficulties related to COVID lockdown in its first month. The challenge has only begun now though..wonder how many more can they sell in the upcoming months post the easing of COVID lockdown..

Re: Citroen C5 Aircross Review

Is this the only crossover with diesel auto this side of BMW X1 with no real deal-breaker?

-Seltos/Creta/Alcazar have safety concerns
-Looking at the harrier thread, it looks as it still has niggles even after 2+ years
-Hector still doesn't have an auto in diesel
-Tucson's interiors are old (Next-gen car is already on sale abroad)
-Germans/Czech aren't dealing in diesel cars these days

X1 retails at ₹ 49.69 Lakh (On-Road Price, Delhi)
C5 Aircross is priced at ₹ 38.14 Lakh (On-Road Price, Delhi)

Both prices are of Top variants from carwale.
Am I is missing something here? If not, Citroen C5 Aircross makes itself a strong case in our market.

11 Lakhs is big money but i think it all comes down to how Citroen will treat you at the service centre.

It is a fantastic product indeed but the following are worth noting.

1. It’s definitely overpriced by ~4 lakh, give or take.
2. For a 35-40L product, the rear seating is astonishingly mediocre thanks to its unusual 3 seat design. You need to decide whether thats fine with you.
3. While overall it seems to be built well, don’t expect the outright plushness of an X1. Heck, even its own cousin the Compass as well as Tiguan / Kodiaq (yes I know they’re petrol) will feel better built than it.
4. Compass is plusher built and has 4x4 although its a hint smaller in size and the engine gearbox is not a patch on the brilliant tuning of the C5.
5. Finally, time it right and the X1 could deliver 7-8 lakh rupee discounts which brings the pricing a lot closer. At a 3 - 5 lakh price difference, an X1 is a WAY better purchase than the C5.
6. It’s a new brand so reliability and quality of service need to be experienced. This is currently a big unknown.

Priced better, the C5 could have really set the cat amongst the pigeons in this attractive segment and if needed crept its way up the price point over the course of a few years. With its current pricing, its got its work cut out and it has only itself to blame. The entire market was / is abuzz with the launch of the Octavia, Taigun, Alcazar and what not. The C5 though came and went (relatively) without comparable fanfare. Just see the number of posts on this thread alone and its testament to the level of interest the C5 has garnered.
