Re: Our Lost & Found Classic - 1954 Dodge Convertible

The transformation from the sorry state in which you first found the car to where you have got it now is nothing short of phenomenal KPS, congratulations!

I noticed a couple of yellow lamps in the boot in the pictures taken when you first found the car, were they mist lamps?
Could you please post daytime pictures of the interiors as well - the dashboard and steering wheel, drivers footwell, seats, the boot etc? its a new car now and deserves a thorough review
Do you now use it as a daily ride as you had planned earlier?
Here's a before & after : - ) though it doesn't do justice to the incredible tinkering job done to the heart of the car

Thanks Famousshoes for your compliments. To answer some of your queries

The yellow lights were local fog lamps. Since they were broken and badly rusted, we discarded them.

Will shortly post detailed pictures of the car as requested by you.

The car is running very well. The additional electric fan does a great job cooling, in the start stop traffic. The car is quite large and driving a LHD in traffic with two wheelers all over you is a challenge. If someone is sitting in the right hand side, it is easier to drive. Also with the top down, it is easier to drive as every one can see your hand signals and one has a clear view of the traffic behind you.

We manually switch on the Fender Guide lights with a switch located on the dash board.

Cheers

Re: Our Lost & Found Classic - 1954 Dodge Convertible

This morning took the Dodge to Bangalore's most famous landmarks

The Vidhana Soudha

The Attara Kacheri, now the High Court of Karnataka

Quote:
Attara Kacheri of Bangalore is a building housing the High Court. Situated opposite the Vidhana Soudha, it dates back to the year 1867. One of the major attractions of the Attara Kacheri is its Gothic Style of architecture. It is a two-storied building, built in the European classical style. Also known as the High Court Building, it serves as the perfect contrast to the white columned building of Vidhana Soudha. Read on to know more about Attara Kacheri of Bangalore, India.

Dear Sir,

Perhaps KPS might be interested to learn in case unaware that a film has recently been added to Youtube which may well show his exact car, with the driver Jack Lawrence 1973.

If he skips to about 25 mins, the car is first shown.

Best wishes,

Simon Stokes

Thank you so much Mr. Simon Stokes for sharing this video. The wonders of TBHP Is is not amazing that for so long, I have been trying to get a picture of Mr. Jack Lawrence and now a video of him and the car surfaces!

Showed my parents and they were filled with nostalgia.

The video shows the Terramia Estate where Dad was Asst. Manager, Jack Lawrence was the General Manager in 1966.

Here is the picture of their house in Terramia Estate

Actually, there have been so many well wishers that it would be difficult thank all individually. Guess I am blessed.

Having said that, let me thank you.
