This is the Morris Isis. It came with a 2.6 Liter 6 cylinder engine.

In the hierarchy as per the company slotting the Cowley was an economy model, then came the Oxford and then the Issis with a straight six engine. This is why our Club is known Morris Cowley, Oxford and Issis Owner's Club.
Our Landys and Ambys were based on the Oxford with the OE heater and a few other goodies not made available here.

Harit did'nt know you are an Amby lover/owner.That is an original shade again parrot green I believe which was popular in the late 1970's in the Mark 3 and later Mark 4 in the first few lots.

Stanher thanks again. Thats an original parrot green shade I believe, the Landy used to come in. Great looking -only if it could have been a few seconds faster to be captured by the camera in its entirety:Frustrati.

Moralfibre spotted this neat Mk 1 Amby some time back in Pune. I last saw it 15 years back!

Oh great Karl. This car bears a Nagpur number but I am seeing it for the first time. Maybe a 1961 model as MHN 1358 was a 1962 Super Select.

This lovely original car has had only 2 previous long term owners, the first of which was a top ranking bureaucrat from Jaipur. The car was offered to me for a pittance a few years ago, but alas I didnt even have a pittance to spare. One shoddy overcoat later the car is advertised for 85k with work still to be done.

Attachment 35105

This dieselised car was for sale some time back, it might still be there.

Attachment 35106

This neat car recently underwent a garish colour change, though executed superbly. Note the dent in the running board still visible after repaint!

Dear freind this DLC 7474 I have seen this same car in a hindi movie (I dont recollect which movie) in which Amrish Puri owns it and seen him driving around in the same car.

The movie starred Jackie Shroff, Arbaz Khan and Paresh Rawal too I think. Forget the name. Much of it was shot in Pune.

I believe Hulchal is the movie.:)

Have been seeing this car parked around the same vicinity at Colaba for a few days now. It has a lot of Morris Oxford logos on it, an overdose of badging i suppose but on the whole the car seems to be well cared for and in good shape. Owing to the fact that she is not parked in the same spot, i can safely hazard a guess that she would be in regular use.

Since it was a sunny day and the reflection of the sun was right on the windows, i couldn't manage a pic of the interior. Most of the original switches were missing but the dash was complete. Also missing was the bakelite knob bezel around the ignition key which acted as a light switch. Have not seen those for a while on cars now.

I think this is the same car which Cyrus found on the road sometime back. Finally we get some good pix! Thanks Gogiji

The Landy does not have the light switch like this. its only the early amby's which do.
