Thanks Ram, for consistently providing us with these super ads. Im really enjoying them.

Krilo paints Im told were the paints to use when customising your car back in the day, especially metallic shades.

The level of detailing and work on this car has me floored. I cant remember ever having seen such a beautifully detailed engine bay - superb! Please pass on my heartiest congratulations to this gent. Though some custom touches are not up my alley, the overall look is superb (I especially like the colour, same as my Padmini). More pics of this car would always be welcome.

Hi Samsag12,
Just saw your post. My father bought his FIAT in mrach 1956 when he was posted in Lucknow, the regn number was USQ 3645. I still have the vehicle with me.
I am also attaching 2 photographs taken in 56. In the first one I am sitting in the centre as a 4 year old. The second photo is when my father drove the car from Lucknow to Calcutta, the car is seen loaded on a train for crossing some river enroute, no idea where exactly it is.
Regards,
Col Deepak Gopinath

Colonel, those photos are superb, thanks for sharing. Do share some present day pictures of the car as well.

If you have some more interesting car related photos from the family album, do share them here.

Today 07/02/2010 is a special day for me and my Padmini. KA-28-M-297

Its 19 years since we bought the Fiat. On this occasion, I wish my Fiat - A Very Happy Birthday!!!!

My Dad used to work in a Bank. So he had an offer of getting easy car loans and then started his dream of buying a Fiat in the year 1991. I was in 2nd standard then. I remembering him test driving his friend's Fiats and finally we bought the car on 07/02/1991 from Manickbag Automobiles, Hubli. I still remember how beautiful my car looked when brand new. It is a PP Economy model and Color is Pale lilac.

Everyday after school, I used to sit in the car and experiment with all the switches of lights. I would ON one switch and go all around the car to see if any light was glowing. This was the car used during all my three sisters' wedding. Nice wonderful memories.

Over the years my Dad got transferred to many places like Manipal, Mangalore and then Lucknow. Still the car has done only 34,800 kms on the odo.

My Dad's investment of One Lakh+ 19 years ago, changed his son's life now!! All thanks to my Fiat that i got to know about Team Bhp and also helping me to become the Founder member of Fiat 1100 Club - Bangalore.

My Fiat is in excellent conditin now, but still i will soon be completely restoring it to Classic Delight style. Luckily I have collected all the parts needed for it. Will start a thread soon on the Restoration and I hope all Bhpians will help me in restoring it.

This is how my car looked in 1993. Complete original. The boy painted black is me!

In 1994. With my school friend. The fat boy is me.

This is how the car looks now!! Lots of original bits lost.
