I have no images of this car with its new body other than what has appeared in George Oliver's book, and I do not know if it was shipped back to India or kept in the U.K.
There is the remote possibility that the chassis of 35987 is alive and well in Germany. There are many pics on the web.

Thanks Travancore. This again raises the possibility that :

a: the Barker bodied chassis was different than the Bhopal/BWP chassis, meaning the Nawab Sahib had two of these SSK Mercedes, and this is new body on Bhopal car whereas the Barker bodied SSK was indeed destroyed in Karachi as per my information.

Or ,
b: (rather remote chance, given the provenance of the Barker body), that this is the 3rd body on chassis 35987.

Hmmm the plot thickens. Whoever conclusively solves this mystery will be eligible for a prize.

Re: Cars of HH Nawab Sadiq M Abbasi V of Bahawalpur, Pakistan

Listed at position number 16 is a Lancia Lambda four seater phaeton. On a rare trip with my father to Sadiq Garh Palace sometime in the mid Sixties I was treated to a tour of the Motor Khana where I remember seeing the Lancia. I remember it being a Turquoise shade of Blue. Of note is the ingenious door mechanism which can be seen as a singular affair operable from either end! Pictures are courtesy Amer Ahmed (Shyml)

I know of another Lancia with the same door operation, it was bodied by Petera (Czech Republic). Any idea what the name of the coachbuilder was?

Re: Cars of HH Nawab Sadiq M Abbasi V of Bahawalpur, Pakistan

Listed at serial number 30 is the Lincoln Zephyr V-12 Sedan. I believe this to be 1940 model, picture is supplied below. I am not sure about the registration number BWP 309 belonging to this car since it is also listed as belonging to the Ford woodie wagon. Or perhaps BWP 309 actually belongs to this car?!?

Re: How rich were the Maharajas before Independence! Cars of the Maharajas

Here are some pics of the V16, with some details not ordinarily seen, e.g the distributor cap, engine driven vacuum pump for the twin fuel systems ( the vacuum from left and right engine intake is used for brake booster and the vacuum operated wipers, but not for fuel system). The oil level gauge is quaint. I do not know if these pics belong here or not.

Re: Cars of HH Nawab Sadiq M Abbasi V of Bahawalpur, Pakistan

I am very sad to inform about the death, after a great fight against his prolonged illness, of Sahibzada Falah ud Din Abbasi, a great contributor to this forum and this thread. He was buried in Lahore, Pakistan and is survived by his wife.
He was an exceptionally knowledgeable man who was an encyclopedia on the Palaces and Motor Khanas of his Grandfather, the Nawab HH Sadiq Muhammad Abbasi V and his father Nawab Abbas Khan Abbasi.
We have lost much with his departure to his heavenly abode.I have personal thanks to offer to him on account of the rare photos he dug up of my cars.
May Allah grant him peace and count him among his blessed and give his bereaved family solace and courage to bear the loss.

Re: Cars of HH Nawab Sadiq M Abbasi V of Bahawalpur, Pakistan

Sahibzada Falah ud din dug up this very nice colour photo of the V-16 702298 with its driver lieutenant Abdur Rehman in full livery.Reportedly this gentleman reached the rank after more than 30 years of service as HH's personal driver.
Picture is in Sadiq Garh Palace circa 1973, seven years after death of HH Nawab Sadiq Abbasi V, the original owner. The car is in current coulours of two shades of green with black fenders and roof. ( Photo courtesy Travencore.)

Indeed it is a great loss to the family and, may I go so far in saying, the vintage car community.
