Innova has leaf spring rear suspension ? I doubt if the car is Innova.

1) Look carefully at the images and the leaf springs at rear suspension are visible.

2) The front quarter glass ( the small glass near the ORVMs' ) is much larger in Innova.

Either this car is Tavera or qualis.

Not a Qualis for sure. The A pillar and C pillars don't point to a Qualis. On second thoughts, it is a Tavera.

Saw two accidents on my way to work today.

In the first one, a silver Ford Ikon had rear ended some vehicle (a truck, I presume) opposite DSK Toyota near Bavdhan.
Further up the road, near the Balewadi Flyover, a zen had its front end completely crushed in what appeared to be another rear ending.
The occupants of the zen might have survived if they were wearing a seatbelt.

Merc Accident near Bellandur signal - Bangalore

Saw a Black Merc C class involved in an accident infront of Pratham Motors, Bellandur.

Its front right was crushed with the headlights and bumper fully down to earth at 7.45 AM today. There was a crane parked near this car, could be that the car had hit the crane.

Did anybody else spot this?

Thats a low speed crash with crumple zones making it look severe. Any idea about what happened.

Looks like the Honda city is hit from left side, notice left window glass is broken or maybe done by angry mob.

There is a possibility that the car rammed into a parked truck or something high. I'm saying this as the hit seems to be high and the front looks untouched. The 'frontish side' impact must have dislodged the bumper and grille. And before the hit, the driver seems to have lost control and run over a very rough patch of road/tarmac (notice the lower portion of the bumpers).

I think its a case where the driver must have dozed off or was drunk.

- my 2 cents.

Hi All,
My first post so thrilled a lot...but surely saddened to post about an accident.

We have all heard about crumple zones and airbags, but such accidents (and their pics) adds to the fact that when you buy a car, please never compromise on safety.
The following accident took place at Salt Lake, Kolkata on Sunday.
A VW Passat hits almost Head on with a City Bus (fellow kolkata'ans will know about the Red Mini Buses). As per people gathered around, the bus took a wrong side to avoid a u-turn ahead and turned for its way not realizing this passat speeding on the opposite side.
I couldn't click the inside of the passat but managed a click of the exterior. It explains all that needs to be inferred I think. Inside, both front air bags deployed saving the driver and the co-passenger. And no damage at all on the inside.

I think this answers the apprehensions of most about whether to pay for the extra costly safety feature of Air Bags.

@dhanushs I don't there's any rough patch/tarmac near the site of the accident.
The scraped lower portion of the bumper is very normal and most cars do have it considering our Indian road conditions. However careful u are u tend to scrape the lower portion of the front bumper

The Passat is an absolute carnage.
Wonder if its ever repairable and if so, it would sure cost a bomb!

hhmm... are you sure it was not towed to this site?. I'm surprised that cars in Delhi get their underbody scraped this badly.

In our place, we have real bad roads(leading to plantations) and my car still has a better underbody.
