a concretemixer lorry has toppled while taking a right turn on hosur road.
this is at the signal just after BETL on hosur road.
he was trying to turn right to join the highway and seems to have misjudged the median-break.
anybody has the photos?

Water tanker flips right outside Bishop Cottons near bus lane. Expect havoc. Luckily police have brought a crane in and are trying to remove this before peak hours

When did this happen, I drove by this signal between 10:45 - 11:00 and there were no signs of the truck. Excellent recovery work I should say.

Very good work indeed. I think this is because it is a busy highway.
I saw it at 8AM. While returning, I saw that a traffic hoarding has borne the brunt of the accident. Its mangled and was placed on the median.

The traffic hoarding was displaying "DRIVE SAFE, FOLLOW LANE DISCIPLINE"

Now I remember, when I crossed that area there was a broken traffic light that was on the road. I'm guessing this was from the same accident. But the truck was not there when I crossed that signal.

30 people die in bus accident near Sholapur. Bus involved is an AP travels Volvo bound to Shirdi from Hyderabad. About 14 are trainees in TCS ( who completed ILP) and are from same college. From pics flashed on TV, it appears that many succumbed to head injuries.
Is it not hightime governments mandate functional seat-belts in buses. Whether to strap it or not is passenger's fate.
Btw, what should be done in meantime to safeguard one's brains while traveling in buses?
1. Tie yourself to the seat with a belt or whatever to prevent yourself being thrown around in bus.
2. Wear a helmet- the one cyclists use

today, few hours ago, near Manpada, Thane, on a newly laid concrete road (which still had those fine road debree (very fine stones) on it) a swift suddenly applied brakes and could not gain traction and rammed on to a wall next to which a person was relieving himself who got crushed and died on the spot. now, who is responsible for this accident? the road contractor?

The driver (but of course) and the road contractor.

Here I think,maybe a car with ABS would have helped.

Nope ABS would not have helped. ABS works best on good clean roads. Throw sand or dirt into this picture and ABS goes completely bonkers. On loose surfaces like descirbed in the post, ABS will only make the braking distance longer. The problem with ABS is that it relies very heavily on the grip levels of the car/tyres. It works best when the tyres have maximum grip.

Most importantly, stay awake. If you are still fast asleep while the bus starts falling, you'd already have plenty serious injuries by the time you realise what's going on!

Not sure if I got what you said right, but IMO ABS is meant to prevent wheel lock and loss of control in such circumstances ( like skidding in this case) though it may increase braking distances..

Yes. ABS would have increased the braking distance but the car would not have skidded out of control. In short, the driver would have been able to steer the car to safety and thus avoid the collision.

Another tragic bus accident.

32 passengers dead for no mistake of theirs on the way to Shirdi near osmanabad. The bus belonged to SreeKaleswari travels.
RIP to the departed souls.

God, someone has to stand up and change the way these private travel operations. We are all sitting ducks in those VOLVO buses.
