Very sad.

The common man endures a grinding from both the public authorities (infrastructure) and the industry (thread on work-culture). Instead of uniting among ourselves and pushing for better life, we just keep fighting & killing each other - how sad are we.

An elderly man was brutally attacked in Alwal by a motorbike rider following a confrontation. The incident occurred when the elderly man asked the rider, to slow down. In response, the rider attacked him, causing the elderly man to fall and suffer a severe head injury. His family rushed him to a private hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he passed away while receiving treatment.A case was registered, and the motorbike rider was arrested. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed on the road.
A moment of anger and one life lost and another destroyed with two families that shall now pay the price.

Re: Road Rage - Understanding, Avoidance and De-escalating Situation

Hands still shaking a little bit while writing this one.

Faced my first road rage incident. There was some kind of celebration in my college and some of my friends were out on their two wheelers. Just reached to join them when I saw a Thar eve-teasing them. Reached there ASAP and asked them to sit in the car and two of my other friends (male) took their two wheelers.

The Thar blocked the road, I very respectfully not honking or escalating the situation drove through the side lane. Suddenly the Thar Accelerates just about to rear end me, dippers me and tries to brake check me. Luckily a U turn was there and I managed to take it, the Thar took the next one and once again brake checked me again, I slowed down leaving a gap. At the next junction the Thar was ready to T Bone, I sped up and headed directly on the road to the police station, luckily they lost track of us.

I am in one of the North Indian states and I hate to admit that the law situation is bad here. I am not posting any pictures or any number because I am sure that if tracked back to me, no one knows what can happen. The security staff just stood there not even trying to intervene. The only reason not filing a complaint is I don't want to escalate the situation any further since this is a small city and the law situation is not good here.

Lowkey considering not using my car for a few days and moving back. Even after not escalating the situation not responding, I was this close to being involved in a accident. Just shakes my belief in humanity and where are we as a society heading to.

Thank God you and your friends are safe.

Appears like you're a person with conscience (rushing in to help friends being harassed). For such a person, to live in such a place requires you to look the other way - which will definitely make you very restless.

Sincere advice to you and your friends (saying this since you're a youngster) - move to a bigger/safer city for studies (and a job/business later).

Don't let anyone and anything stop you from choosing a better life (family, friends, "native", etc etc).

cheers

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Came across this news :
https://news.abplive.com/cities/hyde...n-dies-1725095

Happened in Alwal, Hyderabad, Telangana.

As per the news report, an elderly man was trying to cross the road and warned a bike rider going with his family to go slow.

The guy parked his bike to the side and inspite of his wife’s attempts , comes and pushes the elder person to the ground.

Thank god you are safe. Thar is becoming the next KTM, with drivers ruining its image, and can't say any more about our law and order. You yourself have to be safe and keep your family safe. Corrupt police officers and courts aren't going to do anything

Commend your courage and presence of mind. Once you finish your studies try and leave the place for a safer city.

The lack of respect for the rule of law and the contempt for law enforcement is costing us Indians heavily.

Re: Road Rage - Understanding, Avoidance and De-escalating Situation

Is there a safer city anymore? South is better than North but that too comparatively. As a society we need to teach our kids to be compassionate, empathetic, some morals and ethics. As a 80s born, I see these qualities degenerate every decade. Even most of our generation lives for social media plaudits and attention. I see people reading books very rarely these days. I don't know how will there be any improvement in human qualities anywhere in future. Sorry for the rant.

Yes these qualities degenerate every decade due to increased competitiveness which results is more agression and less sensitivity.
We had read books in the 80s because books were the great source of information and enough time was available. Nowadays everything is in smartphone and people don't have time or patience to read books.

Coming to roads, the vehicles were few and considered a luxury. Now the vehicles have choked all roads and everyone is in hurry. Results in jostling for pace, agressive driving and road rage. Whose mistake is it hardly matters. Who can dominate the street fight that matters.

Re: Road Rage - Understanding, Avoidance and De-escalating Situation

These changes are not just about the technology or increased competition. They are the reflection of the pace at which the society is moving. Unless we take a step back to re-evaluate the importance of patience, empathy in our daily lives, we may see these qualities may continue to fade away even further and makes it worst.

Well said! The behaviour we see on the road is a true reflection of the state of our society- people have become self-centric and empathy is totally lacking. There is an overall decline in values and this is mirrored by people's behaviour on the roads. One has to only drive in say countries like the UK ( where I go often) to see people showing discipline, abiding by the law and courtesy for other road users.
Unfortunately in our country neither law nor culture exists any more

Re: Road Rage - Understanding, Avoidance and De-escalating Situation

A RE Bullet with a noisy silencer was stopped by the cops. The rider called his father to come to his aid. The father- son duo attacked the police Inspector and constable injuring them. Both the accused have been arrested in connection with the attack, they said. The Royal Enfield (bullet) motorcycle was making excess noise and police were trying to initiate action against the accused bike rider, they added. According to the officials, the altercation escalated into a scuffle, resulting in injuries to Inspector Narpal Singh and constable Ramkesh present at the spot.

The police said that on Saturday 26.10.24, Inspector Narpal Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Jamia Nagar police station, was on night patrolling duty in the area along with his team. "At about 8.45 pm, when the SHO along with the patrolling staff reached Batla House in Jamia Nagar, he noticed a Royal Enfield motorcycle, heading from Kabristan Chowk towards Zakir Nagar market, creating loud noise," a senior police officer said. The SHO instructed his subordinates to stop the motorcycle for inspection, the officer said.

Re: Road Rage - Understanding, Avoidance and De-escalating Situation

It’s really sad to see where as a human we are heading for. Don’t know what happened prior to this, but violence is not the answer for anything.

It was a moment of horror for a family in Bengaluru when two men smashed their car's rear window during a road rage incident. In the backseat, their five-year-old son started bleeding as the scared parents stepped out and confronted the attackers.

Re: Road Rage - Understanding, Avoidance and De-escalating Situation

Another Road Rage incident in Bangalore where local goons have attacked a car owned by non-local.
These increasing incidents of similar nature is a worrying trend in a metropolitan city like Banglore. Authorities need to do something serious to deal with these goons.
