The Baleno Zeta and Nissan Magnite XL TCe100, both with ESC, also come in just shy of 10L OTR.
Add the facelifted Hyundai Grand i10 Nios to the list. Equipment-wise it should be able to make it to three stars for now, four if they add ESC starting from the lowest variant instead of second-lowest. However it could still be let down by its problematic frontal impact performance, especially if the new chest compression criteria push the chest to red (=1 star)

A very reliable source says new crash test results for #SaferCarsForIndia will be published in 2-3 weeks.

Personally I think expecting the Citroën C3 is almost a no-brainer.

Global NCAP to "start discussion with Tata" over misleading Tiago brochure section comparing 'old' 4-star rating for Tiago to 'new' 1-star ratings for Maruti Ignis and Swift without displaying test year.

Absolutely needs to be done.

Sticking to the topic of the thread I would like to add something that I've always thought people should keep in mind. The segment leading crash ratings of five and four stars obtained by Tata, Mahindra etc. are by no means the ultimate in terms of safety as they are based on a few specific tests that do not necessarily reflect the entire spectrum of the different kinds of crashes that occur in India.

The best way to call them would be 'the least worst' of the cars that we have access to at the moment, particularly in the hatchback and mini-SUV class. We still have a long way to go before we match the safety levels of many European cars. BNCAP if it ever launches must be made a lot more stringent than GNCAP rather than the other way around.

There is also the bigger question of how useful it will be to match European safety standards without studying how useful they will be in India. Although GNCAP is far less advanced than Euro NCAP, and protocol updates for India and Latin America are only planned with the intention of eventually "catching up" with Euro NCAP rather than developing new tests that can actually make a difference.

Could the Skoda Slavia be part of GNCAP’s upcoming release? A bunch of Skoda-sponsored media articles indicate so.

We expect the Slavia to get a similar rating very soon.

The SLAVIA also shares the same platform and based on that; the SLAVIA should also share the stage with the KUSHAQ for the safest family car of India very soon!

[Sorry, couldn't stop myself in making fun at the expense of the brand. Mods may delete if it has crossed boundaries]

They are asking visitors to 'Imagine' the 'Next in Safety' as it won't be built into their products.
