Road Safety
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/road-safety/)
I was driving on a narrow road and this silver colored Hyundai driver decided to overtake on a narrow turn inspite of clearly seeing the long line of vehicles that are already in the lane! We all had to come to a complete stop to let this gentleman complete his 'blind' overtake, on a curve which is not 'blind'!

Saw this video on YouTube, blatant violation by the driver, talking on the mobile, drinking tea and reading a letter while steering.
https://youtu.be/C8DX0m3WRi0
Spotted this car which was standing way ahead of the stop line and eventually he broke the signal. No patience to wait even for 30 seconds :Frustrati
Irony was this happened near Ashok nagar police station signal clap:
At Jayanagar, no words to describe this.
:Frustrati

Maybe Bajaj can use this to show the build quality and roominess :Frustrati |
A new video? Or the same as did the rounds some years back?
Either way, what gets me here, is
overspeeding. I don't know how the thing even gets up to normal speed, carrying nearly ten times the load for which it was designed! :Cheering:
The second most irritating thing I've seen car drivers in India do is to turn on hazard lights when it starts to rain. Most people don't even seem to understand the purpose of hazard lights, and think that it's nice to have them on while driving! The first? Spitting paan or flicking cigarette ash out of an open window.

Actually you don't need a lot of power to move a lot of weight (albeit at a snail pace). Bharat Benz truck 1415R has a gross vehicle Weight of 14.5 Tons but has only 110 BHP. Bajaj autorickshaw has a GVW of 672 kg with an engine that develops 10 BHP.
It is another topic for another day why car manufacturers (American/European) opt for obscene amount of power for their cars.

Yes, I've moved 15 tons with one hand! It was floating. It is very easy to get a boat moving, but, and I suppose this lesson brings us back to land vehicles,
harder to stop it! :)

As there's no one on my right lane and I quickly moved to right to let him go rl:and I drove peacefully. |

In my above post (12067) , we can see good lane discipline until the Polo came and spoiled the mood. |
It is clear that you are actually the bad driver here. The white Innova in front of you accelerated away, while you are dawdling in the same lane, not keeping up with traffic and holding up everyone else's progress. One of the primary requirements of safe driving is to keep up with the flow of traffic, and not be an intentional impediment to others' movement.

:) Yes, agreed. I realized it when i saw the video 2-3 times.
I missed to enter the flyover at previous signal and wondering whether to go straight under the flyover or take a right and re-enter. That's when this happened.
Will correct it. These are many reasons to join this forum, to learn from own mistakes. :)

People do that stuff for exercise probably more than hurry. It may be just as much his athletic pastime as his way of getting from A to B.
Is he putting himself in danger or causing any problem? I don't know if cyclists are supposed to or allowed to use that lane? Otherwise, I don't see anything wrong there.

It's about the speeding motorbikes I guess? Not so much about the cyclist.

Oh, I see! Looks like I got a hold of the wrong stick, let alone wrong end! rl:
But even they seem to be going at the same speed as the other traffic.
