I just came across an article which states that the Inner Line Permits (ILP) are no longer required for Indian Nationals. There is a list of documents which will be treated as ILPs. The link which seems official is below.

Re: Leh, Ladakh and Zanskar - The Ultimate Guide

Hi tsk1979,

Excellent thread. I don't know how I have missed this very informative thread for so long though I was searching the net over this route for a long period. I and my friends -10 in all- are visiting ladakh this september. In fact we are leaving Baqngalore on 8th and return is on 19th. we are going to Srinagar, Leh, Nubra, Pangong, Tso moriri, Manali.

Can I put my detailed iterinary here for your opinion?

Meanwhile I will continue reading your thread - Still on page3(after 2.5 hrs. Phew!!) It might take all night to read all the posts in this thread.

Turtuk too now needs permit (from last week onwards). We were stopped at South Pullu for permits but allowed to proceed since we were only going up to KTop and back. There are checkpoints further ahead at places like North Pullu from where you could be turned back.

Heard from another guy (I think he is a member here) that he was turned back from Nyoma even-though he had permits for Chusul and Hanle.

^ The news I got TODAY MORNING, is that ZOZI LA is CLOSED.
I heard some unconfirmed (EDIT: Now Confirmed) news that ROHTANG is also closed.
No clue about SACH PASS.
It's snowing heavily on the mountains.

Also, it's raining in Leh and Nubra Valley, since last 3 days. Turtuk is also cut off for now due to heavy rains.

BSNL Network is down in Leh and so is internet connectivity. Today morning Flights into Leh also got cancelled.

Quite bad news indeed. Heavy rains in J and K with lot of landslides. Jammu Srinagar highway is closed. It would be wise to postpone trips to Ladakh.

Pure oxygen is what we bought and also saw another group carrying. Never used it, so not sure about the pros/cons.

Re: Leh, Ladakh and Zanskar - The Ultimate Guide

Notwithstanding the grim bad weather prevailing at Kashmir and Ladakh, we are leaving Chennai in another hour. If we cannot reach Ladakh, then we will resort to Plan B, which includes HP and Rajasthan, the places that are not affected by bad weather.
