Hyderabad to Nagpur -Highway condition?

Hi,

I did this route via chandrapur, although not much traffic , the road is not too good in the balarsha, chandrapur stretch, I found it taking longer time too. Would advise using the NH to Nagpur. The route is pretty safe though, however avoid travelling after dark.

He has driven at all kinds of odd times, but i would not suggest anyone to take his word regarding night driving.
But the road via this route is fast and good for sure.

What is the latest situation on travel between Hyderabad and Nagpur? Which route is the best? What is the estimated travel time?

A pal of mine who drove down to Bhilai during April last week said it was 80% done, and the rest of the road was good to drive on.

Do we get the famous "Solapur Cops" types on this route also?

This is surprising. When HVK last travelled in January, it was not even 50% done. Great news though.

Status of NH7 between Nagpur and Hyderabad :

1) Around 15 km after Nagpur airport, the road-over-rail bridge is not completed though it is in advanced stage. One has to encounter the railway crossing. Another railway crossing is at Hinganghat.

2) 60 km between Nagpur and Jamb is 4 laned and good to drive barring the above ROR bridge/crossing.

3) Road between Jamb and Hinganghat is under construction at various places and the ride varies between good and bad and includes stretches where there is just no road.

4) After Hinganghat upto border, the ride varies between okay to bad and the last 25 km in Maharashtra before AP-Maharashtra border is a nightmare and equivalent to some extreme off-roading. See the truck having broken down in a pothole (my car would have got submerged in these potholes).

5) Between Hinganghat and the border, there is one more stretch where the 4-laning is complete and that is a fun ride.

6) Adilabad and also Nirmal bye-pass are not yet open to public but look to be nearly ready.

7) Roads are bad in Adilabad town from bye-pass on Nagpur side to Hotel Ravi Teja (2 km).

8) The 2 km stretch just at start of Nirmal town is in extremely bad condition and is rutted road where one needs to keep speeds as low as 20 kmph.

9) The Nirmal Ghat section is varying between good and okay. Here is a view from the Ghat towards Nirmal town.

Hyderabad to Nagpur : Route Queries-nirmal-ghat.jpg

10) 4-laning is in progress between Nirmal and Dichpally and also between Dichpally and Kamareddy but that does not slow down the progress on the present 2-lane road. I did this 2-laned 99 km in 1:30 hours.

Nagpur - Jamb = 64 km / 1 hour
Jamb - Kelapur = 94 km / 2 hours
Kelapur - Border = 20 km / 0:45 hours
Border - Adilabad = 25 km / 0:25 hours
Adilabad - Nirmal = 81 km / 1:30 hours
Nirmal - Kamareddy = 99 km / 1:30 hours
Kamareddy - Bowenpally = 121 km / 1:30 hours
Nagpur Hotel - Hyderabad Home = 515 km / 8:30 hours (no stops)

Timely update, hyd_traveller, looks like the MH-AP border area is fated to be perpetually bad, it has been like this for quite some time.

re: Hyderabad to Nagpur : Route Queries

Folks, how is the current road condition between Hyd and Nagpur? I plan to drive between Hyd-Nagpur then proceed to Pench, Bandhavgarh or Kanha end of Jan.

re: Hyderabad to Nagpur : Route Queries

Just adding to my above query, it would be great if someone can indicate the road condition in the route Hyderabad-Nagpur-Seoni (Pench)-Jabalpur-Bandhavgarh. NH7 all the way!

Some bad sections around Kamptee (after Nagpur), some rough sections between Jabalpur and Katni, but rest of the highway is supposed to be OK between Nagpur and Bandhavgarh.

re: Hyderabad to Nagpur : Route Queries

I just did Bangalore - Nagpur - Bangalore trip last week.

For Hyderabad to Nagpur route : Find details below. (1st column for distance, 2nd for time & 3rd for toll paid)

(You have patchy roads just for 15-20 Kms). Rest is all fine.

Nagpur - Jabalpur road is not in the best condition.

Note :-
1) Tank up at Adilabad (bypass). You have 2-3 good petrol bunks.
Later you dont have good options till Nagpur.
2) Carry food, since till Nagpur - you may not find good options to stop.
