We did Kalyanotsavam in the month of Aug 2010, tickets were booked online in July (1.5 months) in advance.

While booking it doesn't mention, but ticket that was issued in CRO office (online to manual ticket) does it.

I didn't see anyone who came in without dhothi.

Well this is not a Free Darshan aka sarva darshan. There is a seperate queue for Climbers.The darshan timings are almost similar to 300 Rs tkt.Think you are doing it first time.

I have done it multiple times in recent past and the tkt is not given at alipiri junction but almost after covering 2000 steps of climbing so that people can't misuse it. They even stamp it further on the way to avoid peple getting the ticket and then go by road somehow.It's called pedestrian ticket I think.

yes there is a seperate queue. You don't get free ladoo with this tkt, so they give you coupon for Rs 10 per ladoo after you enter the hall.

There are multiple signboards on the way for tickets and stamping so you can't miss them.

We made quick program on Sunday morning for Tirupati and started from Bangalore in my Safari around 11:15 AM. Reached Fortune Kences hotel 5 PM sharp.

We had not booked any darshan ticket and went Tirupati directly hoping to get Seegradarshan tickets. Seegradarshan is available at night also from 9PM to 11PM. Started from hotel at 8 PM reached Tirumala around 9:15PM. Car checking took 20 minutes. Got into Seegradarshan queue around 9:30 PM and finished darshan by 10:00 PM. Total amount paid Rs. 600.00 for two adults.

It took only 30 minutes for us to darshan. Crowd was as usual in other queue. At the end all crowds merged into one single line. Returned to hotel at Tirupati by 11:00 PM.

It was nice darshan and Seegradarshan is really quick.

Now that was really quick! Did not know this opens at night as well!
Thanks for that info. Some had told that this queue closes by 5 in the evening.

That was great luck . I was in th Seegradarshanam queue on Saturday, 9th Oct - got into the queue at 4:30pm; came out after darshanam at 9pm.

Ticket will be given in the queue itself. It cannot be booked outside. You have to first get into the queue for seegradarshan and then buy the ticket.

Fortune Kences is a very good hotel. If not I would say one of the best in town.
The other one to be recommended is the Bhimas Residency (The one at the crossroad).

Rs.50 Sudarshan ticket is given at Alipiri (just before the steps begin). Here you deposit your luggage if you want to (which will be transported to Tirumala free of cost). You can buy the Sudarshan ticket.

The ticket given to pedestrian devotees (who climb steps) is called Divya Darshan. There is a counter just after Gaali Gopura, on the left side. They take your photograph and give you a ticket. You proceed to climb the steps. Much after the Anjaneya idol, they will stamp your ticket.

The entrance for Divya darshan (pedestrian devotees) is slightly before Vijaya Bank counter. One can also see the Rs.300 Seeghra Darshan queue next to it.

We climbed on 2 Oct which was Sat and Govt Holiday. Probably due to the rush, we entered the Divya darshan queue at 11:20AM and completed darshan at 6PM.

I would suggest one to opt for Seeghra Darshan for Rs.300. For this one has to stand in queue (clearly marked). Then the tickets are given enroute. Definitely worth it.

Also, they have constructed an entire building for laddoo prasadam. After exiting the temple, take left turn and again a left turn. Towards right hand side there are rest rooms, then there is a laddoo counter exclusively for Extra laddoos (Rs.100). After that there is a building with two floors. The counters have boards regarding what coupons (Rs.10, Rs.20, Rs.50, Rs.300) are accepted. Covers are also available at the counters.
