Within city, 30 psi with only me in car rides really rough, while 28 psi is gives soft ride.
Going for 205/55/R15 would compromise on mileage, though your grip and comfort would increase. However, IMO, 195/60/R15 is more than sufficient for this car. |
Thanks for the tip on air pressures, will keep that in mind. Quote:

I plan to get the car a set of yokohama S drives (205/55/R15 or 205/60/R15, still to decide, waiting for some moolah , booked a swift Vdi so all my money going there as of now)
the stock tyres are good for the car, decent grip and decent comfort (kinda best of both worlds). However, if you love to corner a lot and drive frequently over 100-120, I would suggest you change the tyre, else I believe they are good. Also if you plan to change the tyres, get them changed as soon as you get the car, will fetch you good money as they will be new. If you change the tyres after running on them, they wont fetch even 30% of the price.
Also, my cousin’s cedia runs on good year 205/55/R16s (yes 16s, its not a typo), and the FE decrease is very marginal but handling is excellent. However, it’s a bit bumpy as well. I suggest if you upgrade get yourself a set of 205/60/R15 (Yokohama S drives or Michelin PPS2) for both good ride and handling. If you have more budget, Advans would work wonders. |
Changing to 16" is a big no no for me. That is till I am bored of the OZ alloys.
I was thinking of CPC2 but will go out and have a look at the Yokos especially if they are being imported from Japan. Quote:

So, I decided to let it run for a few months and then take a call... till now, I am quite happy with the tyres, especially in city traffic I just love these tyres... If you will be doing a lot of Highway drives, then you may be better off with Michelin (is what i hear), but i am not a tyre expert. So, please check with Gaurav, Reignofchaos & RajaTaurus on this subject for their expert advice. But to me, as a layman, i just love the stock tyres the way they are and may not go for a change !
Do let us know updates on your Car delivery, all the best !
For info- everything was fine with my car at the time of PDI, except for a couple of minor scratches which the dealer has undertaken to re-paint during next service or anytime i wish. The other issue was the wheel alignment, the car was dragging to the right, after a lot of investigation, they said the suspension has to be opened and fit again, after they did this, the car has become even more smooth and speed/pick up has greatly increased... so, you may want to watch out for this as well. Good luck |
Kartho thanks for the pointers. Will keep an eye out for such issues.
After reading raja's, gaurav's and your posts I have decided to stick to the stock size but will look at changing the make to Yokohama provided it is manufactured in Japan; CPC2 if they are available in stock size or Michelin Primacy LC for their low road noise capabilities again in OE size.
I do enjoy a spirited drive once in a while but for everyday usage it is the road noise that is of concern especially on the concrete roads that abound in Maharashtra. Quote:

Very big on PGW but that was many many moons ago.
This is how I figured it out. In your gallery you refer to your bike as Jeevs. This points to a very close relationship that you have with the Unicorn. I thought well a bike is like a man's constant companion. There when he awakens and still around when one goes to sleep. No demands for self and fulfills all that is asked of it, gets used to and caters to your whimsical demands etc. In return the man looks after its regular needs usual service etc and looks upon it more as a friend than a servant like a personal valet or a butler.
There are only two Butlers from the literary world whom I know of Cadbury from Richie Rich comics and Jeeves from PGW. Even with the slightly skewed spelling it seemed like a very good fit and here we are.
On the reading front, honestly it is the publishing house that I blame for my giving up on this wonderful author. About a decade back M/S Penguin India switched to a font for the paperbacks that would have ensured that readers vision would go for a toss and I did not have the money for the imported hardcover editions. Well 10 years later, here I am with my 6/6 vision but only distant memories of the antics of Bertie Wooster in the world created by Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse.
If driving the Cedia gives me even a fraction of the pleasure that Jeeves and company did it will be money very well spent.
