How much did you pay for this? Very good detailing when compared to Maisto.

The Black SLS has been sold. It was a customer car. So is the Frozen Silver one. But that is still with me. The Red one is min though, and that is the Minichamps one. That is the highly detailed one. And that is the one that will get will get the wheels.

Yes. I get them online. Mostly from Germany. There is a person called Uli Novak who makes them. Very highly detailed.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Yep. Dont worry, we have all gone through this phase. It is good to start with budget models especially in 1:24 (maisto kits in particular) stage and then move on to bigger scales before moving on to premium models. There are some who have jumped directly into premium models and gone on crazy spending sprees and now today some of those models are for sale and I havent seen them buy anything new for a while now. You need to go step by step.

I would differ from your thoughts here, I feel that it's a personal thing if one needs to buy budget models or premium models. I personally would only buy 2-3 models a year but would prefer to buy good detailed ones. If detailing is what you are looking for then you will not be getting the same in the budget models then what's the sense of spending even 1.5-2k when you know you would not be satisfied. Rather buy few but buy good ones!

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Everyone has different ways of approaching the hobby. But I have noticed people who start with the basics actually take the hobby seriously. No references to you buddy, your cars are FANTASTIC. I have the Balboni too. And Im waiting for the R8 GT from Kyosho.. I also have the M3 in grey similar to yours.

The Nano and the Etios are cars developed by the respective manufacturers keeping mainly India in mind. The days are gone when we used to get left-overs like the Astra and Escort.

These cars are also one of the finest examples in frugal engineering.

This is nice, i shall be visiting Bangalore some time in september 2011, can you let me know any place where i can find a Nano and Amby classic

Your camera seems good enough, You should be posting details :( .. I loved the M3. I'm not a fan of BMW, well I developed a sort of aversion towards it, but M3 and X5 stand out of that notion .

@Cyrus: Do you also buy 1:18 scales from Germany? If so what does it add upto overall(including shipping to India) when you buy a 1:18 scale Autoart, Minichamps ,kyosho.
