Re: The Scale Model Thread

Hello Everyone

Thought of sharing some snaps from my collection. most of the cars i used to collect were 1:24.

Here are some snaps of the collection that i have with me in Bangalore.

The shelf is a bit cude since its a DIY piece made out of cardboard.

This is how it looked when it was still a WIP

These photos are from 2022.

I did get some more models after this. most of them are 1:43

Will try to get some more snaps and post them here later on.

Till then, happy hunting.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Adding to my collection after a hiatus.

Rudolf Carracciola 1937. Silver Mercedes Benz W 125.
Limited Edition. From the Mercedes Benz Showroom.
The only car I could afford in there. Still an expensive purchase though it is in 1:18 scale.
Beautiful detailing and for me, a truly gorgeous piece.
This was at the height of German Nationalist Fervour and Prowess, when The Fatherland were winning everything in sight, car races, endurance flight records, skiing, mountaineering et al.
The Mercedes W125 - a car of its time!

Nice work there. Kudos for the DIY spirit. Is the unit kept at a central location in the house? Asking since you showed views from all 4 sides.

I like the touch with using the safety strips on the pillars.

Thanks for the appreciation

Yes, it is kept in the service window between the kitchen and the hall.

That way, it gets visibility from all sides and access to a power socket whenever I feel like showing off.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

1:43 Suzuki Swift Sport(2012)
The Swift Sport was previewed by the Swift S-Concept which was showcased first at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show. The production model of Swift Sport was powered by a revised 1.6-litre four-cylinder (M16A) from previous generation Swift Sport's engine and producing 136 PS power and 160 Nm torque. The 2012 model came with the option of a six-speed manual transmission or a high performance CVT transmission with seven-speed manual mode and paddle shifters.

Riding on lightweight 17-inch alloys, the car featured a rear spoiler, a large front grille, body kit, new HID headlights and rear lighting clusters. The ground clearance is also lower than the normal version. Inside, designers included leather bucket seats with sporty red stitching and a "Sport" mark, a new steering wheel, and different instrumentation.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

A few more.

A gorgeous Ford F 150 Raptor Crewcab 1:46 scale by KinsMart all muddy and all.
(Straight outta Montana. All one needs is a cowboy hat and a shotgun rack.)
Simply Superb heavy little Blue Ford Performance GT Mark 2 in 1:64 from Mini GT.
A pretty little Green Mini Cooper with the Brit Flag Roof from BriScaleMicro in 1:64.
And the wonderful little baby Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 5 door in 1:64 from Time Micro. Dont miss the bull bar and the little antenna and all.
And one more little beautiful Wrangler Rubicon 3 door with the roof off. From Kinsmart in 1:34 scale. Absolutely makes me want to have a convertible Thar…

How can one not succumb to the lure of these gorgeous little scale model vehicles? I simply cannot resist them!

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Bangalore friends, an appeal:

A friend of mine, a well known professional photographer needs some scale model vintage or classic cars ("Cars with nostalgia") for a new art project.

It would be great if any of you are willing to lend your scale models to him for a period of upto 7 days. He will take excellent care of your models.

In return, he will give you a lot of thanks and professionally shot images of your lovely cars.

Please DM me if you are interested.

A sample of the project:

DMed you, Shankar.

I think 1:18 or 1:24 would be better
