@ RossoCorsa do share snapshots of your greenlight collection. If you bought from DreamCarModels, then we might share most models, as I also bought almost all individual models

I've bought everything from the US. My friends buy from DCM. But I do know Mr Kalsi, the owner. Nice chap!

Okay. So those are the equipment used.

This Merc is truly a beautiful model. I would sure like to own a real one someday.

Unrelated note: I don't know what you do for a living now. A lucrative career in photography seems possible. Just saying.

Thanks for the compliments! I'm one of those regular IT joes who clicks a few pics here and there for fun. Your comments shall keep me motivated for a long long time.

Though AutoWorld models seem exquisite, I personally don't like the shiny chrome rims in most models (which might be period correct), and also it seems most models are cars from 50s to 80s. I like classics like the Mustangs, Corvettes, Chargers & Challengers, but not most others from that period. Though older American cars look great in 1/64 scale, as they are amongst the longest cars in this small scale. I prefer more contemporary ones - and greenlight seems to have a better collection in that sense. What do you have to say?!? Actually i need a reason to buy my first AutoWorld model

If possible, please post some photos of your favourite models, including a couple of modern ones.
Thank you, Jessie! I have followed Autoworld since 2013 and have even collected the 45 of the 60 Ultra Reds released. The ultrareds are 3% of the production and are painted in candy red.

The Scale Model Thread-img_20150820_201647.jpg

I dont collect GreenLight yet but 2 weeks back I went to ModelArt and looked at them and I spotted a VW Beetle (Forest Gump, Hollywood Series Release 12) with green wheels!! and got it home. My first and only Greenlight is a green machine (2% of the Production run).

I will post a Mustang later. I hope you like it. It is a 1:24 scale Shelby Mustang.

I'm into Greenlights too, have about 50 of those. Maybe more. The Hitch&Tow series is amazing. The attention to details is phenomenal compared to the price ($10). GL coming out with more and more castings every month, it's becoming difficult to collect everything.

Another delight for us 1/64 collectors is the return of the iconic Johnny Lightning and Racing Champions. Both the brands have been purchased by AutoWorld who themselves make some amazing and highly detailed cars.

For your rant about the excess chrome, well, AutoWorld cars are still a million times better than most of the stuff that M2 Machines makes. While it might appeal to some, I hate those chromed out wheels excessive graphics.
Thank you. Rosso. Yes JL and RC are back but they are yet to match the standards of Autoworld 1:64 or the original JLs and RCs.

I collect Autoworld from US and Tomica Limited Vintage from Japan. Of the lesser detailed models, I collect Tomica, Matchbox and Hot Wheels. Tomica Regulars are far more detailed then MBX and HW. I also have a collection of about 80 SIKUs. My Tomica collection is 600+.
Here are some displayed:

Are you joking - that's a pittance. We want to see individual models of AutoWorlds & TLVs - starting with the popular ones - and preferably post 1980s. I believe TLVs are very well detailed, but expensive for the scale. I personally don't go beyond Rs 700 / US$ 10 for 1/64 scale. Most of my collection is made up of models costing under Rs 500. I'll also share pictures of my collection.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!

That's one insane Tomica collection. I'm curious, how do you get them here? Do you buy them in Japan or order online? I've never bothered to get the regular Tomicas which were never available in India. Importing them here comes to $8-9 a piece (shipped), I'd rather spend that on GLs or AWs.

If I'm not wrong AW has one more chase variant aside from ultra reds. It's where the model is left unpainted and unpolished. Those command quite a premium amongst the hardcore AW collector community.

I've never had a liking for Green Machines, nor did I ever find them in the wild in US. Somehow a car with green wheels turns me off!

I agree about Tomicas being more detailed but their wheels are a turn off. That's not an issue with the Premium or TLVs but again they cost a bomb so never bothered to get into this.

What make is the 1/24 stang? If you are seriously planning to collect American cars in this scale then I highly suggest Franklin and Danbury Mint. They might seem expensive but with a little bit of ebay hunting skills you can easily snap them up for good prices.

We have a dedicated Facebook group for Indian 1/64 collectors, why don't you join and show everyone?

+1 to that. Never really went past the $10 mark for a 1/64.

I get my Tomicas from Japan at cost price and the shipping is reasonable when getting more cars per mail. After seeing AW and GLs, I still see TLV as a notch above.

In Summer 2017, M2 is coming out with Japan cars (4 in the first release). The news was out on 1st November.

Yes, Rosso. That variant is caled UltraRaw and is limited to ONLY 10 worldwide. Here is my Ultra Raw Chevrolet Impala.

The 1:24 Stang is a very special Franklin Mint Model, one of their best. Here it is. Hope you enjoy it!! Autographed by the man himself

Just wondering if you follow any specific seller / portal for your online TLV purchases. eBay is a waste. Some forthcoming Feb / Mar releases are worth cherishing, but10500 JPY is too much to bear. Any suggestions with regards to online portals!

Here are a few photos of my GreenLight collection. Not very clear, as they are kept in a drawer - away from the prying eyes of my five year old son. Though I try and get him hot wheels replacements of the ones he likes - like the green dodge charger Daytona.

Majumdarda, every month I see which is offered at a reasonable price including postage. Are you looking for the buses in March? AmiAmi has them at 30% discount.

Here is a pic of my Tomica Premium collection, It is complete to date including the limited editions. The next one is due in end-November (A Black Subaru Impreza 22B STI). The blue Subaru is No.15.

Nice collection of GLs, Jessie! I like the Hitch and Tow series and the Dodge Monaco. The Dayatona is a green machine. I would also love to see your son's collection. Be sure to save it for him. When I see my India hot wheels that i purchased with my pocket money as a kid, it gives so much joy

Nice 2CV! Reminds me of my childhood walk to school. I walked through Khan Market and there were many 2CVs parked (Behind Ambassador Hotel). It was a workshop, i think. Most of my Hot Wheels were bought in Khan Market. Thanks for sharing.
