I bought an Airfix Quickbuild Supermarine Spitfire model yesterday and spend around half an hour snapping it together.

Lovely Spitfire. However, the colours aren't quite true right?
Whether Battle of Britain or the North Africa Sector or the Gibraltar Squadrons. The Green ought to have been darker and teamed with grey and if those planes were used in the hotter areas, they were a sort of sandy beige.

I ve got one of these Spitfires and a Mosquito as well. Both by Tailwinds. Die cast Metal.

But what a beautiful shape. I just love those iconic aircraft. After watching all those war movies and reading all those WW2 books.
One day, must spend that 350 Pounds and take a ride in one of those aircraft in those "Battle of Britain" re-enactments near Dover/Southampton which they do every summer.

The green is off, quite a bit. But, for the cost (880), it is pretty accurate to scale and big.

Planning to get the Beetle (for my dad) and a P51 Mustang soon, if possible.

Cute model. Always a hit. We now have our own site for scale models of aircrafts & ships which I am cheerfully promoting

Suzuki Katana GSX1100S with a Yoshimura customization kit.
The details are kind of close to Autoart levels but amazing quality nevertheless

My AutoWorld 1:64 collection
I have the complete collection (120 Cars) released till now. AutoWorld started their 1:64 series at the end of 2013. The latest release was 2 months back.

Nice collection AJ - I am also a 1/64 collector, but like Greenlight models more. Rather, till very recently, haven't been able to find a source to purchase AutoWorld models. Though one site is selling them : I believe it is scalearts.in

Though AutoWorld models seem exquisite, I personally don't like the shiny chrome rims in most models (which might be period correct), and also it seems most models are cars from 50s to 80s. I like classics like the Mustangs, Corvettes, Chargers & Challengers, but not most others from that period. Though older American cars look great in 1/64 scale, as they are amongst the longest cars in this small scale. I prefer more contemporary ones - and greenlight seems to have a better collection in that sense. What do you have to say?!? Actually i need a reason to buy my first AutoWorld model

If possible, please post some photos of your favourite models, including a couple of modern ones.

Very nice.

How did you take these pictures? The house in the back seems real. So did you use a phone selfie stick extender to click?

Thanks. I take all shots on the terrace or from my balcony. So the buildings in the background are actually real.

Most pics are from my Sony Cybershot and few from Nikon D3200 kit lens.

Added a Mercedes Benz 500K Spezial Roadster (1934-36). - This is a mobile shot.

I'm into Greenlights too, have about 50 of those. Maybe more. The Hitch&Tow series is amazing. The attention to details is phenomenal compared to the price ($10). GL coming out with more and more castings every month, it's becoming difficult to collect everything.

Another delight for us 1/64 collectors is the return of the iconic Johnny Lightning and Racing Champions. Both the brands have been purchased by AutoWorld who themselves make some amazing and highly detailed cars.

For your rant about the excess chrome, well, AutoWorld cars are still a million times better than most of the stuff that M2 Machines makes. While it might appeal to some, I hate those chromed out wheels excessive graphics.
