| Re: The Scale Model Thread Collecting Scale/Diecast models ( however you prefer calling them) is an extremely addictive hobby. I used to collect Hot Wheels during my childhood (12 years back) and had over 150 of them. But one fine day I discovered much to my horror that my mom had given them away since they had been well used by me. After that the love was still there but I didn't start collecting them again until recently.
Fresh out of college and with my modest first GET salary, I started my collection once again and below are their pictures. The most important decision every collector has to make is the scale? I chose to go with 1:24 for now since it helps my wallet. Timeless wonders of engineering! - 1:24, The F40 is some chinese knockoff. Kyosho was way too costly.
'Murican muscle - 1:24, Ford GT, Ford Mustang GT, Dodge Viper ACR, Dodge Challenger
V8's
1969 Dodge Charger Daytona - Jada
The Brits - 1:24, Jaguar XKR-S and Lotus Evora.
'Ze Germans! - 1:24, BMW 330i, MB AMG GT, Porsche 918 spyder, MB 300SL, BMW X6.
Godzilla! - 1:24, Maisto assembly line.
Groupie
Parallely while shopping 1:24 stumbled across the lovely KiNSMART line of scale model which IMHO are nice for what they cost. Only problem is the scale they range from is 1:32 to 1:38. Most of them are 1:36. Other than those have a few 1:41 Welly and Maisto. Started collecting Hot Wheels again, have got more than 120 now. I collect only the production cars made by HW and not their Fantasy stuff. I also have a few multiples of the HWs that I love like the Lancia Stratos, Toyota Supra, Tesla Model S, Acura NSX and Ford Focus RS. 1:32 KiNSMART, Lotus Exige S, Alfa Romeo Spyder, Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW i3.
1:36 and 1:38 KiNSMART, Lamborghini Huracan, BMW i8, Chevrolet Camaro Z28, Porsche 911 GT3, Ford GT, 2017 Ford GT, Audi R8, Lamborghini Veneno, Lamborghini Miura.
1:41 from Maisto and Welly, Aston Martin Vantage V12, Chevrolet Camaro SS, Lamborghini Diablo SV, Mini Cooper, MB C63 AMG.
Since I drive an Innova bought this, 1:41 Scale by Welly. Details are nothing to talk about. Off all the generations of the innova they had to choose the one with its mouth wide open.
For "Centy" reasons!
Tomica's - 1:64.
Siku - 1:54,Alfa Romeo 4C, Lamborghini Murcielago roadster, Bugatti Veyron.
Hot Wheels outlaws( out of packaging) - 1:64, The Ford GT, MB E class wagon and Chevrolet SSR are Matchbox. The Honda Civic Type R ( car with number 8) is 13 years old, had it since I was 10.
The rest of them, Hot Wheels - 1:64. Notable ones include Aston Martin DB5, Nissan Skyline R34, Datsun Fairlady 2000, Porsche 356A, Plymouth Superbird, McLaren P1, Lamborghini Urus, Pagani Huayra, Lamborghini Aventador J, Subaru Brat, BMW2002, Scooby Doo Mystery Van, KITT - Knight rider, Batmobile - Dark Knight and the Jetsons Space pod.
A Few of them - 1.
A Few of them - 2.
Also what is funny is the things you do to get the scale model you want. I got a few old out of production 1:24 from the US. The Jada fast and furious 1:55 build and collect was also acquired. Also got a few AutoWorld cars, these are absolutely epic. The level of detail is unbelievable for a 1:64. Jada Fast and Furious 6 build and collect. 1:55 scale, Dodge Charger, Plymouth Roadrunner, Lykan Hypersport, Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline R34, Dodge Charger, Chevrolet Camaro.
Auto World - 1:64, Chevy Kingswood estate, Ford Country Squire, Dodge Challenger, Pontiac Firebird, Ford Galaxie and Mercury Comet cyclone.
Chevy Callaway Corvette!
Where they rest!
Removing them all out to click pictures and putting them back was tiring.
Right now I'm planning to get my first 1:18, a Bugatti Chiron made by Bburago.
