Hi All,

Pretty sure there are a good number of RD 350 fans here.

There's the 1:12 Minchamps model available on ebay, it's a bit pricey when you factor in the customs and all, but this model is a unicorn (doesn't come up for sale often).

Maybe if you have friends in the EU, you can save on the customs.

Thanks for letting us know. It’s definitely pricey but considering that no one else would make one again in the future will only push up the prices of these models in the future.

Its a very detailed model and comes in a beautiful packaging as well. Had the pleasure of owning one for a very brief period though

It was a damaged piece. Was offered a discount to keep it the way it is but was not comfortable with the thought of the model not being perfect so ended up returning it.

My motorcycle scale model purchases have been kind of jinxed. Even the Nuda that I had purchased had the rear wheel off but that one I could manage to fix it.

Well, as expected the model has already been lapped up. So considering yours I guess there would be more than 15 pieces of this beautiful model in India itself I was told that Minichamps wanted to make another batch and approached Yamaha for it but they declined. Hence, these models are valuable more than ever.

As mentioned my motorcycle scale models have been kind of jinxed and especially with a RD 350 considering I never ended owning a real one in life. So, I guess I finally have made peace with the thought that the RD 350 nor the real or even the scale model is meant for me.

I was so excited to own a scale model of it that I had received a package of 7 models including this and I opened this one at the end to just build on my excitement, which ended abruptly the moment I opened the box. After this I decided I won't buy expensive models of motorcycle considering how delicate they are.

I have seen and ridden so many RD 350's that I knew something was amiss the moment I saw it

I know the seller, Mr. Wouter from the Netherlands (have been buying from him for a while now). Apparently someone from France bought the second piece, didn't know the bike was as popular there.

Mine might take a month to get here consider how long India Post typically takes, and hopefully customs don't unnecessarily open it (this has been happening quite often now, inevitably leading to damage because they don't bother packing it back safely).

Also was just doing some research, this model launched in 2012 for a then retail price of 84€ (INR 5,700/- at the then exchange rate of 68), if you take a conservative price of 200€ as today's market value (i.e., less shipping and eu taxes that would factored into a European's buying decision) that's almost INR 18,000/- that's a 13% IRR or 3x return. Not bad for a "toy bike"

That is why I prefer buying it locally or carrying it with myself while coming from abroad.

Since, this is a very detailed model with so many individual parts that you need to be really careful while holding or taking or putting it back in the box. Also, they could have used softer materials for the inside of the box as the plastic cutout is a tight fit and people might unnecessarily put pressure on the delicate parts.

Could be the reason for mine having a bent exhaust (which was visible before even taking it out of the box) and broken side stand.

It because of the attention to detail and plus the cult following for the RD 350. But this model resembles the US spec and not the Indian spec and visually the biggest giveaway are the front mudguard, disc brake, speedometer, fuel cap, tank and side panel decals and finally the tail light.

But the heart is still the insane 350 parallel twin

World’s smallest microcar to be produced till date. Weighing in at a mere 56kg, the Peel P50 is a single seater which had a 49 cc engine with a 3 speed manual gearbox (no reverse gear and had a handle at the back with which one could pull it back or lift it) and could do a top speed of 55 kph.

This is a very detailed resin model by DNA Collectibles in 1:18 scale and is limited to only 320 pieces.

Not really into collecting scale models of buses and trucks, but if I come across something rare and interesting it generally gets added in the collection

This is an amphibious vehicle produced in 1975 for search and rescue operations for returning astronauts from space who used to be seated in small space capsules while entering back into the Earth atmosphere. The vehicle was manufactured by the Soviet automobile giant Zil and was known as Blue Bird. Apart from being capable of running in very demanding conditions including the Arctic cold the vehicle had no doors and the crew had to get in through two hatch located at the top in the front. A total of 28 units were built (both cargo and passenger versions)

This is a 1:43 scale model of the cargo version made by DiP Models..
