I agree. The Hunter just looks graceful.

Great looking model sir. Congratulations.

In the 1971 war, the pilots of an IAF twin seat Hunter, pretty similar to your model, were awarded a manuever kill on a PAF F-86!!!

Wg. Cdr M N Singh & Sdn Ldr F J Mehta while flying a twin seat Hunter T.Mk.66 on an interdiction mission, were bounced a couple of PAF F-86s. In the ensuing air battle to shake off their pursuer, the PAF F-86 flew in to the ground and the Hunter crew were awarded a maneuver kill. Sqdn Ldr F J Mehta had earlier shot down a PAF F-86 while flying a single seat Hunter F.Mk.56 two or three days prior to this incident.

Re: Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships

Who am I....

With a high wing loading of 133 lbs/ sq foot I was designed for the lo-lo strike role

In the 1980s my name lit fear in the West just like Foxbat did in the 1970s

My American counterpart shared a numerical suffix with a British regional airliner of similar vintage

In many ways I represented the ultimate wing design of that configuration.

:-)

Has to be the Fencer then or is it a duck nosed ground attack Flogger variant?.

My guess is your Calibre Wings Ukranian Su-24 model which you haven't displayed so far on the thread .

Yes indeed the Su-24 Fencer. It has been lying in its box. Now is a good time to assemble it and share the joy with my scale model brothers.

Re: Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships

Saying this again- i absolutely and wholeheartedly love this thread!

Though not a collector of scale models of airplanes (i collect cars- or used to), airplanes are something that i absolutely love. And the information that comes on this thread with the additional love of scales models is something i look forward to a great deal.

A big big thank you to all the lovely gents on this thread for enlightening the likes of me!

Regards
Rohan

Rohan, thank you for your kind words of appreciation. You know how we toil to put together the models, photograph them, research the aircraft.....oh the labour Very pleased you enjoy this thread. It will keep filling up till our wives put their foot down

Re: The Scale Model Thread

This is my aircraft scale model collection. So far have been very specific, Air India only and wide body crafts only. When I am transiting thru Mumbai T3 Domestic I always pay visit to the flight simulator store and see if any new models are in. All these are made by Hogan Wings. They are a bit delicate when comes to the landing gears. I also like spotting planes, and have been able to capture 2 out the 3 models (different tail number, but same type).

Re: Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships

A little time pass during this Lockdown.

Tried setting up the famous Tomcat versus Zero scene from the movie - "The Final Countdown". Jolly Rogers Tomcats flew against IJN Zeroes.

"Alert One, This is Eagle One. Cleared to Fire. Splash the zeroes. I say again, Splash the Zeroes!". "This has to be a dream."

"Eagle Control, Alert One, Splash Two. Repeat, Splash Two.".

The Tomcat was such a thing of beauty in the air. It had the ability to look pretty, brute and intimidating at the same time.

As always your F-14 looks superbly detailed and a joy to behold. Thanks for that clip on carrier deck ops. What a marvel of precision and flying.

RA-5C Vigilante is probably decorating some petty officials office All my attempts to track it have failed. :-( I hope it fires a big warhead on that worthies nut.
