Thanks for the tremendous support pouring in. A few of my friends were stuck in Pathananthita and Parvur, but now they have managed to get out and about.

For collection of materials - i would suggest please check with your local kiranawallahs as well. I stay in RT Nagar and there are 3 small time departmental stores who have managed to send 1 truckload each of items to both Kerala and Coorg. Also, check out Thom's bakery, Fatimas bakery as they have also dispatched trucks to both areas. We have put in a number of clothing articles as well as clean up kits, disinfectants and general medicine as well such as oral salts, any versions of tablets for stomach borne diseases (lopramides) etc. I was talking to a friend of mine who is still stuck and water contamination has started off

Hundreds of trucks carrying fishing boats were plying from TVM and KLM. Some are coming back now and some still in action. Hats off to these fishermen who risked their life to save others.

Numbers from rescue operations -

More than 43,000 persons have been rescued so far, out of which around 600 people were rescued on Monday. And 12.47 lakh people are lodged in 5647 relief camps.

Death toll is sadly upto 373 officially. 32 are reported missing in the floods.
46k animals reported dead.
17065k poultry reported dead!

Insurance companies spread the risk by collecting premiums from all year after year. They have huge reserve funds for such eventualities, which are mandated by regulatory authorities! I am sure all of them can meet this liability easily.

Maruti Suzuki has announced initiatives for its customers in Kerala:

▪ Courtesy mobility will be arranged for customers whose flood-hit cars are under repairs.

▪ A service camp will be organised for those cars after one month of the completion of repairs.
