Re: Your favourite song while driving

Hi currently listen to Radio mirchi in the morning (hello Chennai --good RJ-Ajay) and on return listen to the gem Maestro Raja hits -soothing for the soul.
My all time fav is the song _musafir hoon yaaron-Kishore, Nammoora mandara hoove-SPB, few tamil songs like Nalam vaazha-SPB.
In fact had a CD with only these 3 songs in continous record format

Cheers
Prasad

Re: Your favourite song while driving

When I've got an open road, I love to fire up either one of 'More than a feeling' by Boston or 'Driving with the top down' from the Iron Man OST. Upbeat, catchy songs that get my adrenaline pumping. Not so much fun to listen to when I'm stuck in traffic

Re: Your favourite song while driving

Most of the time i'm on highways , its the likes of Airbourne - blond , bad and beautiful & diamond in the dust
and other artists like -
AC/DC
Metallica
Airbourne's other numbers of course.
Some times the likes of eminem , BoneyM etc also get some chance.

PS - Guys , most of you must have watched Schwarzenegger's Eraser movie, in the last scene of the movie , Arnie says - They caught a train ! , then the song starts - Caught a Train by Trevor Rabin , but it was never publicly performed , so i can't find it anywhere , can anyone help ???

Re: Your favourite song while driving

The following are my most favourite music tracks, especially on long solo cruises, the road winding in surreal tandem with the graceful notes of the music.

For long solo cruises, the road winding in surreal tandem with the graceful notes of the music:

On an early morning sprint, in search of the teasing sun:

Accelerating, buffeting wind and smooth tarmac:

After paying the toll at a gate, when you switch to high gear with clear roads up ahead:

After a tough day at work and being caught in traffic, relax your mind with this romantic delight:

I consider myself truly lucky to have grown up in the times of Illayaraja and A.R Rahman of the 1980s, 90s and the early 2000s.

Re: Your favourite song while driving

I have created a separate playlist containg songs only for the times when I am stuck in heavy traffic. These songs are a bit heavy, but for sure let me pent out the frustration of being stuck in Gurgaon traffic. If you find a guy on a motorcycle with a white helmet and bobbing his head, it most likely is me

- Highway Star (Deep Purple)
- Count of Tuscany (Dream Theater)
- Wither (Dream Theater)
- One (Metallica)
- Black (Pearl Jam)
- Kids will never Know (The D Project)
- Rishikesh Liverpool Rishikesh ( Black Noodle Project)
- Day of Conflict (Dominici)
- Youth of the Nation (POD)
- Killing in the name of (RATM)
- Aerials (SOAD)
- and lots of Iron Maiden and Floyd.

Re: Your favourite song while driving

Beautiful question, because i am pretty choosy about the songs i wanna play while driving or travelling. I classify and store music in my library as per the mood they instil rather than the genre to which they belong. Usually I make different folders titled like "Pleasant", "Solemn", "Blues"or "Beats" in the USB and fill songs according to their character. For Eg: "Frozen" by Maddonna goes into Solemn, while "I want It That Way" by Back Street Boys goes to Blues folder. MLTR songs go usually to Pleasant folder while Scorpions goes to Charge.

Here are a few of my favourite songs (and my own categorizations) on the drive:

1) Beat It - micheal Jackson (Charge)
2) Coast to Coast - Scorpions (Charge)
3) Spirit of Rock - Scorpions (Charge)
4) Non e per Sempre - Eiffel 65 (Happy)
5) Night Bird - Deep Forest (Soul)

Once we were negotiating a series of hairpin bends in Nilgiris, my husband was at the wheel. He was gong rather too fast for my taste (it was already dark and drizzling). Instead of asking him to slow down, I simply changed the track to "Background Noise" by Mike + The Mechanics (one of his favoutites), and immediately the aggressive style of driving changed into something mellow and the car started slowing down...

You people check it out on your buddies and let me know...

Re: Your favourite song while driving

These two songs have made my driving that much more fun..

Led Zeppelin's No Quarter. Robert Plant's ghostly voice, Jimmy Page's spooky riff married to that lovely bass-line by John Paul Jones and supplemented by Bonham's superb beats makes this song one of the best driving songs of all time!

Porcupine Tree's .3 from the album In Absentia is a brilliant track, especially while on a drive. Three of my favourite instruments rolled into one track. The deep bass guitar accompanied by a lovely drum composition, and the way the song tapers into an acoustic guitar, half way into the song makes it all the more interesting!
