Glad to see a fellow PT fan here, I'm a great fan, even caught them live when they came over to IITB.
Great song there man, haven't listened to to Blackfield yet. Loved it, will be downloading the discography tonight.

And if you liked the Lacuna Coil track, do check out the following tracks from them
Cold Heritage
Heir of a dying day
Entwined
To live is to hide
Purify

Few tracks I like, but otherwise it gets a bit monotonous.

Damn you! Was stuck with exams when they performed at IIT Mumbai. Many said that they would disappoint, largely because they were here to promote their latest album 'The Incident', but apparently, they played a brilliant set, complete with all their commercial and non-commercial tracks.

Will check Lacuna Coil out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Dream Theatre, Radiohead and King Crimson are other bands that I love to tune to while on a drive. Apart from Floyd, of course!

Haha, one disadvantage of being a student.
And yeah, you couldn't have asked for a better setlist from them considering they came for the Incident promo. They were just brilliant!

Nice progressive stuff there. Basically I'm a sucker for drums

You might like this. Amazing guitarist, I almost get goosebumps from around the 3:05 to 3:45 mark

That was absolutely brilliant! Wonderful piece of guitaring there. Well, I'm a sucker for face-bleeding solos. At least, I was! There was a point when I used to listen to nothing else but this guy:

Wait for the solo. It's at 2:30 or so. Just wonderful. The drums sound pretty good throughout the track as well!

Re: Your favourite song while driving

Some nice songs and artists on this thread here. I'm a sucker for face melting/bleeding solos too!! Huge Joe Sat fan!! His latest album Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards is brilliant. I'm also hooked to Mark Knopfler's song from 'Sailing to Philadelphia' album called What it is.

Here's a snapshot of whats on my HDD that stays plugged into the USB all the time...

Re: Your favourite song while driving

Don't you just love this song.

Quote:
Bob Seger Turn The Page Lyrics
On a long and lonesome highway
East of Omaha
You can listen to the engine
Moanin' out his one note song
You can think about the woman
Or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wandering
The way they always do
When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do
And you don't feel much like ridin',
You just wish the trip was through

Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page

Well you walk into a restaurant,
Strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
As you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you
But you just want to explode

Most times you can't hear 'em talk,
Other times you can
All the same old cliches,
"Is that a woman or a man?"
And you always seem outnumbered,
You don't dare make a stand

Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page

Out there in the spotlight
You're a million miles away
Every ounce of energy
You try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body
Like the music that you play

Later in the evening
As you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers
Ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette,
Rememberin' what she said

Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page
There I go
There I go

He he!!!

Have you heard metallica's cover for this?

(why i laugh is cos i had the cassettes for that album, minus the covers and the sleeves, and i, till sometime back, thought it was a metallica song only.even though the whole album was proclaimed and publicized to be only covers!!thick skull.)
