Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

Nice Thread! I've worked from home for some time now and have invested in ergonomic chairs that are a replica of the ones at work. I don't want my back feeling alien.
  • Table lamp above the seat for video calls at night.
  • Under table seating for the dog.
  • White board - or parts above 6 feet available for use.

Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

Here is mine. I tend to work from home a lot hence have a dedicated work desk. Most of the space is taken up by my laptops - a mac pro and my trusty (and rusty) old Dell hooked up to a monitor. The rest of it is taken up by drawings by my kids and their pics.

And yes I cleaned up the desk before taking a pic. It was a right royal mess .

Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

These are my WFH set-up. I have been working from home for the past 4+ years on regular basis, more often since the last 2 years.

The one below is my working desk in the Master bedroom:

At times, we couple work from home and have telecons at the same time when I shift my place to my daughter's study table in her room .

Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

I don't have a dedicated home office. Though definitely want one. What I do have is my little "Office Corner". I recline in bed with my laptop on my "as the name describes" and work.

I have a few essentials to make this as comfortable as possible:
  • Vissco Therapeutic Back Support (critical for long hours on the laptop)
  • Miniso Neck Pillow
  • Phone cum wifi router
  • Bose Headphones
  • Chest of drawers on my right for storage
  • Inspiration wall with my favorite movie posters
  • Philips LED lamp
  • Analog Clock
  • Book I am currently reading or my Kindle (for short breaks from work)

All de-cluttering ends up even more cluttered. Being a self made designer, I can't afford to keep handy stuffs too far.

Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

Here is my Work space set-up.

There is an 8X10 area on my first floor landing (duplex in out skirts of Bangalore) which I converted to a study and also put in an elaborate desk.

The equipment is currently makeshift, but i intend to get more ergonomic chairs and a better monitor.

Also the table faces east and there is ample natural light and the room opens upto a balcony keep it light and airy..

Dude, this just reminds me of that same Aquarium I have and kept somewhere safe. Will restore it this summer after this corona thingy.

This is how my home office looks Today. The table is a full glass whiteboard which I use to note down quick things. That stick like guy peeping from behind the monitor is the LED table lamp that I bought from Ikea and never used . My 2.1 speaker system was replaced by a simple Bose Soundlink Mini II.

Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

I work more regularly from Home even before virus scare.
Setup is quite simple, shared space within a bedroom.

Just the Office laptop, a table and chair.
Chair is custom built for my physique, purchased it from a factory in Penya.
Printer is mostly for personal/kids use.

I do have broadband connections from two different provides. Airtel VDSL 100Mbps and Jio Fiber 200Mbps for reliability and redundancy.
For energy, there is UPS capable of supporting 8 hours worth of work and the apartment has DG also.

Being in Bangalore, this setup saves me almost 4 hours of daily commute.

I love the work desk. Its a very retro desk with a folding flap for the table is my guess. Did you inherit this or buy this. If you bought this do let me know from where. I have been looking for something like this for our bedroom. It is modelled on a Victorian design and would love to have something like this

cheers

Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

This is my setup, I've been working at home for the past few months quite regularly. Got this folding wall mounted desk made, and purchased 2 folding chairs. They are pretty comfy, would surely love a nicely contoured one but space constraints prohibit it.

This is how it looks.

Re: Working from home? Show us your home office

But working from home is SO HARD , don't you guys think so ? Especially if you don't have a proper and enabling work environment e.g. kids at home, lack of dedicated space etc. I am so looking forward to create some workspace at home now since this is going to last for at least few weeks. But I have always preferred going to office instead of working from home. Now that I have spent couple of days "working " from home , except the commute part, everything about the workplace is great. I am going to office sounds so much better than working from home. Loved the home office setups of team members.
