This was why I had shifted from rediff to indiatimes years ago. And it seems they still have not caught on.

How has the indiatimes experience been for you? My brother has placed an order for me on there for a mobile phone and I'm curious if the online shopping on Indian portals is as satisfying as its western counter parts.

So here's the update after me flagging it out to rediff.

A fresh properly packed half kg kaju katli box was delivered today to MIL.

I had ordered a copy of MSTS (Microsoft Train Simulator) from Indiatimes shopping a while back. Since they had no plan of shipping it even about a month after placing the order, I cancelled it (and picked up the software from I think Croma or some such).

I actually order only from a few websites that have earned my trust. Rhythm House for movies is one. Flipkart is another (though there have been several issues of late).

Lol,yes. My wife thinks i did all that on purpose to annoy my MIL.

Btw ,little gyan for folks who order roses/flowers via online.

I was charged inr 1325 by rediff for 12 roses and half kg box of the sweets.

Now obviously there is a local vendor who would execute (in this case its rediff-gifts valley-card point (local vendor in yamuna nagar) )

Per card point they got inr 300 for the whole deal.(now you can see the margins for rediff/gifts valley)

Next time i am directly calling the local vendor and seeing if he can accept online transfer to his account

It was good, but the last time I used them was in 2011.since then, it's been dx or eBay. Fair shipping time and prices. Rediff, they were always selling bad, or fake, products, and customer care was non existent.

I have found FnP very prompt and reasonable. I have used their service across India about half a dozen times and never has there been an issue.

How is snapdeal? Planning to buy a pair of floaters from them. Some summer off of 20%, so getting 500 off from the market price. Worth the effort?

Have you checked the same product on sites like bestylish, myntra, jabong, yebhi etc? Sometimes you can get much better offers there.

Recently I bought a pair of Nike sports shoes from bestylish @50% off! Took them a few days to deliver (I didnt mind that) but good service and it was COD so no worries.

Also try phoolwala.com. I've only used them once so far but the rates are much lower than FnP and the experience was good.

I bought a pair of excellent Adidas golf shoes from be stylish at a ridiculously low price.

Well worth it and the delivery experience was great too.

Good site...

I got my GS 4 replaced by Flipkart yesterday because of some build quality issues. I sent a mail to customer care and within minutes replacement was arranged and received the same very next day. This whole thing just took 24 hours. Very very happy with their customer service.

re: The "Online Shopping" Thread

Has anyone noticed most items on Flipkart had become relatively expensive off late in comparison with other online sites?

What exactly was the issue? It is sad to see a new product being replaced for build quality issues - Good to see Flipkart giving this sort of service.
