I took the vaccine about a month ago through a family member who is a doctor and runs a hospital in Bangalore. I had mild symptoms for a few days and I recovered from it.
I am trying to get some of my office boys vaccinated but no luck with the cowin website :Frustrati The slots that we got are for 40+ years only. These 3 boys are 22-30 years of age. Not sure how to get them vaccinated.

Or the temporary vaccination site at the BMTC terminus further down the road: |
Thanks, is there a Veeranjaneya temple nearby? Searched Google Maps and found a veeranjaneya temple, but couldn't locate a hospital anywhere near that.
This is the address on the appointment slip.

Seems to be one at the junction at the main road:

Disappointing that people are travelling to the villages for vaccination instead of waiting their turn and getting it in their cities. With limited supply, this means that the locals in those areas themselves cannot avail of the jab. To make it worse, the registration is only online (and in English), leaving a lot of illiterate and non-tech savvy folks out.
The rural citizens are obviously justified in 'agitation'.
My 2nd Dose of Vaccination (Covaxin) is due on tomorrow and twice my appointment in COWIN website has got cancelled and currently there is no availability of vaccination centre admininistering Covaxin for around 45 Km from my place (near Kelambakkam) as per COWIN website. Looks like the Vaccination centres simply marking themselves as 'Booked' as I have never seen them opened in the last 2-3 days.
Do not know whether to blindly go to the vaccination centres without appointment and whether the police will allow the vehicle as there is a lock down here until 24th of this month.
My wife and I got out first shot of Covishield today.
I had taken appointment for both of us at Nanjangud Taluk Hospital. Since we were staying in Mysore, it was easy for us to travel to Nanjangud as it's a quick 20mins drive from my place.
All the slots in Mysore were booked. I got to know about availability on Sunday night by one of our relatives. Immediately booked the appointment for both of us.
Since I got my Mother's second dose of vaccination done at this hospital, I knew the place. Reached there early at 8:50AM. We were seated inside the vaccination center.
Tokens were handed out once the vaccine reached the hospital at 9:35AM. We got out shots at 9:50 and were back to home by 10:20AM. We didn't wait at the hospital after taking the vaccines.
Process was well managed, majority of the crowd were from Mysore. Most of them working in Bangalore and who have moved to Mysore due to lockdown.
Could see that the vehicles in front of the hospital were either Mysore or Bangalore registration.
I took my second jab of Covaxin at Manipal today (Airport Road). It was walk-in and I was there on the dot at 5.30 am. Smooth affair. Relieved that I have got this kavach.

I'm not sure I fully agree to this. Each to it's own, I will get vaccinated wherever I get the vaccine. I am OK to pay for it, but I (I means people living in cities) want it as much as anyone else.
People travel from villages to cities for hospitalization since they don't have hospitals there, should we (City folks) also feel "agitated" for that?
Providing facilities as well as vaccines is responsibility of people in power. Ideally, everyone should get it at their place, but that is not the case. I have done no wrong if I travelled far off to vaccinate myself and my near ones. One still has to follow the same process of registration, check every half an hour online for availability, get a slot even 100KM as one is willing to go that far. Situation is equally bad for everyone. City folks are equally at risk, and equally need a vaccine.
My parents got the second dose of COVISHIELD today at Government Medical College, Thrissur. The experience was quick and hassle-free. Very limited crowd and ample number of counters.

Hi, you didn't have to do CoWin registration for second shot? Is Walkin allowed for first shot as well?

I think we should leave it to the system and believe in the system, it will work. Worrying on this is not really that we have to do as an individual. Getting yourself vaccinated as early as possible is what I think we should be focused on, by whatever official means.
Guys. If i may know if there is any guideline a what time of the day we should check for availability of appointments for the coming days. For my small town of Palakkad in Kerala, there was a time, when no booking was shown. Now i check every two hours and it shows "booked" as the status always. For the entire district! (I do not even try pin code because it always returns no centres available for my pin code) I never get a chance to see any open slots in the Cowin website. I am not sure if i am doing something wrong while entering.

There are many websites that send an alert once you register. Paytm also has a mechanism and I registered for the same. It sends out an alert once it opens up - I suspect that Paytm is just crawling the cowin website and sends the alert once it opens up. The alerts that I got for Bangalore indicates no obvious pattern. Further, even a few minutes after getting the alert, i have seen that the seats are full. So, they get filled up right as they get opened in less than minute. So, it's not possible to beat that system by just checking every couple of hours. Using these tools are probably a good idea. I hate that we are trying to game the system - and this puts some people ahead of the others.
The core problem is that of low supplies. Both covishield and covaxin are ramping up production. My thoughts are that for people who are working from home and can afford to continue to, please chill - you should be able easily get the vaccine in June/July timeframe. Let's use the current supplies to people who have to go out (not all of us are software engineers).

Hello buddy, I'm from Palakkad. Similar observation here as well. Unlike other districts, there is no private hospital being displayed here for the district. I think the reason though is they are letting people take 2nd dose through walk-in. In Kerala, Govt is preferring completion of 2nd dose and hence probably they are displaying them as they are booked. Do register for in-app alerts in PayTM on district basis - it works (at least better than nothing).
