Hi Guys,

Do you know of any good and CHEAP eat outs in Chennai?

I know of a couple of excellent and cheap eat outs..
  1. Hotel RUNS (Adyar)
  2. Hotel Traffic Jam (Adyar)
And please dont say Karaikudi, I said GOOD and CHEAP. It dosent match any of the 2 criteria.

Any roadside stall that can serve hot egg dosais that serve as your dinner after blowing up all your money on alcohol

Chennai has lots of these - one at every street corner I'd think.

Alcohol: Rs. 1000
Dinner: Rs. 25
Post dinner feeling: Priceless

There is one joint near Satyam Theater that sells good Parathas and authentic N.Indian stuff.. very small place. But the food there is very good. I think its called some Krishna ..something.

Its the last building on your left whn you come from Mount Road / Peters Road and take the left to Satyam.

There was this hut on the beach in Beasant nagar or something. It used to serve fast food. Still exists? Have fond memories of that place.

TSK - was it on the beach (beach sand) or on the road besides the beach?

On the beach sand, I dont think we have any fast food joint.

Beach sand. It also had a coffee day or something like that. It was a quiet beach with a residential area nearby.

Whenever I've visited Chennai, our branch took me to the Saravana Bhavan chain, mostly the one in Annanagar main road - since our Chennai branch is near there. Being a vegetarian I enjoyed that Chennai-style veg cuisine
