I guess you will have to download their programs from the internet and burn it on to a CD and show to your son on TV or connect your laptop to the TV and play it.

Re: Television shows: What do you watch?

On star movies, when they are showing 'Now Playing' and 'Next' movie clips, the background music is amazing. I tried searching for it's origin, but failed to do so. Does anyone know what is the original song used for the clip?

is there any way to subscribe to online TV for these channels? links appreciated
or do we have to rely on youtube?

Very sad indeed.
But I guess today the majority of our Indian people prefer the local regional stuff to BBC and such.
We will really miss this Channel.

Re: Television shows: What do you watch?

I got bored of watching "Breaking Bad". I am on some 4th or 5th episode of season 4. Started watching Sherlock but have completed only 45 mins of it. I like it but I don't like the way Sherlock Holmes is portrayed. He's shown to be of a person with lot of pride, but that's not what I remember of him from the books. May be they wanted to add a twist to his personality. Not sure.

Re: Television shows: What do you watch?

Today I accidentally came across a song from the reality show Xfactor India 2011 on youtube. It was from a little 17 year old girl who could nearly match Lata Mangeshkar. She was so good, I went on to check out many of her songs. She was outstanding in how she could sing very difficult and mature songs with the right touch. I assumed she must have been the eventual winner. Then I googled and found she was runner up.

I was so amazed that somebody could beat her, so I looked up the songs of the winner.

This is why I hate reality shows. The guy is just a notch above a bathroom. Yet he gets more votes than a very gifted and versatile singer and wins. What a travesty!

Anyway, I am sure we will see more of this amazing singer in future. One stupid contest result can't hold her back. Here are 3 songs, there are lot more on youtube.

Re: Television shows: What do you watch?

As of now, apart from the usual best - Dexter, Fringe, Person of Interest, I also watch 666 Park Avenue, Gossip Girl, 90210 and Once up a time. Each one of these shows has a different theme and plot. American shows are so much better than Indian television!

Intend to knock off all seasons of the following shows in the coming days :

1. Breaking Bad
2. Homeland
3. Suits

And of course, season 4 of Modern Family.

Heard a lot of buzz around Game of Thrones. Anyone has a take?

If you like fantasy genre, this is the one to watch. The story has lots of suspense, action and turns. As of now, 2 seasons are done.

All 3 are brilliant, must watch.

Game of thrones too was enjoyable, lots of drama. It does keep you entertained.

Check out Newsroom, another HBO show. I enjoyed it. Another show called Terra Nova was quite nice, though it got cancelled after the first season.

If anyone wants to see an extremely funny show, watch one called 2 Broke Girls. Makes me laugh like 2 and a half men when Sheen was in it.

Re: Television shows: What do you watch?

^^ I remember you advocating 'Suits'. Watched some of that and actually liked it. Now that my exams are over, I will start watching it regularly.

2 Broke Girls is funny!
