I haven't played the game so not sure how accurate it is to the source material, but as a stand alone show, it is excellent.
Have played the first game 4 times, and the second one twice, so this comes from there.

The show stands on its own, no doubt. But the gut punch moment from the game (you know) did not translate as well into live action. Probably because the show is structured in a different fashion.

Also still unable to entirely buy into Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

Bosch Legacy. The series is now done. Enjoyed watching both Bosch series

Woman of Dead: Good second season. Not sure if there is a 3rd season ?

Watching Last of Us. Good till now and I dont have any knowledge of the game. So enjoying it.

Mobland: Very well done with all actors doing very well. Haven't watched all the episodes yet.

Bondsman: Kevin Bacon and others are really good. An interesting story about a demon hunter.

I really like the premise of the show and wish the narration could have been better. But almost all characters are annoying and it is a major drag on the show.

But still a timepass watch for horror fans.
Just finished watching the series yesterday. My initial review stands!

2.5/5

Series - Day of the Jackal

Streaming Platform - Jiostar

Rating - 5/5

This show has been on my bucketlist for too long. This also happens to be my first and favorite Frederick Forsyth novel. Although the TV series is quite different from the book, I'm just glad that the main character stays true to the core essentials described by Forsyth - that of a cool, cold assassin.

Eddie Redmayne is fantastic and eminently believable as the cold hearted assassin. The other actors are also great to watch. The storyline is part suspense, part thriller which is right up my alley.

All I can say to sum up is - "Just watch it already!"

Series - Banshee

Streaming Platform - Jiostar

Rating - 5/5

Banshee is one of the best series with intense action sequences, complex characters, and gripping storyline. I've binged this series twice now and loved every bit of it. I strongly recommend it

Any fans of Harry Bosch here?
Bosch has been one of the finest television creations ever IMO irrespective of genre. Impeccable performances by the entire cast. All side characters like Crate and Barrel, Robertson etc have been nurtured so beautifully. The lead characters are on another level in terms of character development

The realism in police operations also looks spot on. It is a true masterpiece. Very sad that it is ending after 10 years

Its not available. You will need to VPN or go old school to watch it.

Agree to that -

1. The casting has been quite good. I dont think anyone can perform the role of Bosch as well as Titus. Also, the supporting cast such as Jimmy, Jerry, Crate and Barrel were brilliant

My peeve is on the last episode of Legacy Season 3. I think it did not fit into the entire storyline of Season 3. They probably did the episode to get Rene Bellard character in and create continuity to the next series. However it did not stand well at all

Secondly, Patrick Currey's future seems to be left very open. He is a suspect, but there is no more story in that direction. Again another thread which is hanging lose

Well said. There is an emotion with BOSCH that is hard to replicate and I found the police work more compelling than WIRE (which I haven't been able to go beyond a few episodes)

Every character fits into the storyline like a glove. Some of the noteworthy were (using character names)

1. Chief Irvin Irving (Most stylish chief I ever saw on screen- It's a shock that he is no more)
2. Lt. Billets (Awesome acting and character)
3. Honey Chandler (Heart of the series after Bosch)
4. J.Edgar- What a pardner
5. Crate & Barrel- Proper doughnut eating cops as gloricized by Hollywood..lol!
6. Robertson- Amazing love and hate relationship with Bosch
7. Finally, Maddie- Somehow I never liked her. She felt cold to me throughout the series.

Gosh, I am gonna miss all these folks. I think the only way to relive is to see it from the beginning . I will do that sooner than later.

Cheers to Bosch !!!

Yup. Bosch will be back on screen in Ballard which hits OTT in summer. Maggie Q was nice in initial episodes but, she never had so much attraction to be cast as a main lead.

She in Ballard is going to be threatned by Bosch's presence. Hope they keep his on screen presence limited or else he will hog the limelight...lol!

Partick Currey? He never left any impression to even discuss him...IMHO

Daredevil: Born Again - 4/5

The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)-img_4657.png

The blind attorney and his archenemy are back! Hard to believe it has been 7 years since season 3 of Daredevil aired (2018). Binged through the 9 episodes last weekend. Pace builds up a bit s-l-o-w so don’t expect fight sequences as soon as the series begins. It’s airing on JioHotstar (the earlier seasons were on Netflix).

Fans of the Marvel franchise - please WATCH! And if you haven’t watched Daredevil series and time permits, begin from S1 > S2 > S3 so you can relate to all the characters and their background stories. Bonus, if you can watch The Punisher as well.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

On the third episode (of six) of a Sony Liv original called "Black, White and Grey - Love Kills". Shot in a mockumentary style, it presents multiple perspectives for a sequence of events involving multiple murders, allegedly committed by the protagonist. It uses cctv footage, single fixed camera, interviews and a foreigner as the documentary film maker (you actually never see him, only hear him).

Sometimes it is so intense and gripping that I have to stop and then i restart. Totally recommended.
