Being a huge fan of Dexter series, I can't wait to start this series over the weekend.

Any feedback on how this new season is compared to the excellent old one?
Season is alright until the end.

However, you will hate the last episode and how series is concluded. The original show ending was criticised so much and everyone thought with this they will rectify it. They managed to make the ending much worse on all accounts. So, keep expectations really low while watching.

This Guns and Roses .. err Gulaab is a total snooze fest. Seems like the makers are trying too hard to incorporate elements of other successful franchises like Wasseypur, Mirzapur, Panchayat. Too many unnecessary subplots.

DQ, Rajkumar are good in their roles but they don’t really have much to work with. I will need to make a herculean effort to sit through the finale since it’s 1.5 hrs long! Let’s see when can I gather the courage to do so.

Imad Mughneiya (Ghosts of Beirut)

OTT : Showtime

Rating: 4.5/5

I stumbled upon this 4-episode series based on "true story" of Imad who was the most daring Iranian ever born. He is the father of "suicide bombing" and invented this gory method or terminating opponents.

Imad was also considered as the "Father of Ghost" as he was never spotted until the last few months of his short life on this planet.

His other claim to fame- He killed the maximum Americans outside of 9/11.

His sole aim- Get rid of Israelis and Americans from Beirut and Lebanon as they were invading their country.

If you loved Fauda ( One of the most favorites series), then you will love this one too as the atmosphere is similar and cherry on top is it's story , direction is by the same amazing team- Avi and Lior.

Dexter- New Blood

OTT : Showtime

Rating : 4.5/5

It just took a few minutes before everything from previous season came rushing back. I normally don't binge watch but, finished these 10 episodes in just 3-days.

It's as gripping as previous season and set in a different background that we are not used to. That background haunting voice of Dexter is so compelling and marks this series into greatness (Similar to Titus's voice in Bosch and that trademark opening score).

Overall, a great season and I read somewhere that New Blood Season 2 is not happening and its been cancelled.

I agree with you on the disappointing last episode conclusion but, hoping they will continue to make next seasons.

P.S : I loved the way each episode title is shown as part of the scenery in beginning of each episode.

Such brilliant content should never stop.

I found it tough to finish episode 1, took 4 days, then ended up waiting for an appointment so thought of watching the episode finished episode 1 finally, after that it seemed as if a totally new set of crew had come in, everything got better, very well made, the scenic locations just add the icing.

Show: Kaala Paani
Platform: Netflix
Rating: 4/5

Slow burn with many scenes / plots for dramatic liberty and convenience.
Too many wannabe emotional subplots (works if you like drama).
Melodramatic, psychological and a cliffhanger ending.
But worth all this for being a different kind of plot and its making.

Show: Bodies
Platform: Netflix
Rating: 4/5

A fine time travel crime mystery.
DARK genre in a smaller scale.
Liked the closure to the story.

Matthew Perry, one of the stars of smash hit TV sitcom "Friends," had battled for years with addiction to painkillers and alcohol.
If laughter is the best medicine, Matthew Perry was an excellent doctor. Thank you, Chandler Bing, you will never be forgotten !!

The dude had been fighting drug and alcohol addiction issues for decades. Almost died in hospital several years prior. I hope he's at peace now.

Woke up to this absolutely horrible news, not only was he funny but his character as Chandler Bing - a lot of which was modeled on his own personality was really easy to connect with in many ways - awkward & making silly sarcastic jokes when I get uncomfortable. Don't normally get shocked at celebrity deaths but this one did!

RIP Chandler!

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Chandler Muriel Bing, played so well by Mathew Langford Perry, remains the favorite character of many of my generation.

It's been a long time since the show stopped, but the umpteen reruns have kept the spark of FRIENDShip alive.

Perry had many subsequent appearances, some of them were moderate successes too. But the magic of Bing couldn't be replicated. The character kept shadowing the actor long after the curtains came down.

Today, like scores of others, I mourn for Mr. Bing - the master of sarcasm. He had perhaps had his full run: in his own words, he had said

...more dumb things before 9 AM than most people say all day
But the real void can no better be visualised than through the eyes of his best buddy Joey.

Masterpiece - Malayalam

The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)-a1.jpg

The plot is simple so couple of episodes in the middle feels a bit boring. But it was a good watch. The senior actors shined in this when compared to the young couple. The art/set definitely stands out with some bright colors.

Rating - 4/5 (Available on Hotstar). Recommended.

Kaala Paani - Hindi

The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)-a2.jpg

1 hour episodes can be a bit slow but keeps you engaged. Acting was brilliant and good BGM. The narrative could have been better as they just feels scattered all around the place. I took over 5 days to finish this so it's really slow.

Rating - 4/5 (Available on Netflix). Must watch.

Absolutely. Nothing of that sort. No nudity or profanity.

Wrapped up last week and loved it. Just 7 episodes. The first episode is s-l-o-w but the rest are really good and gripping.
