The West Wing is a definitive show, covering the finest intricacies of the American political landscape, at the turn of the millenium. This show is literally the bible on everything politics. One of Aaron Sorkin's classics. The writing, production quality and most importantly, each and every actor, will blow your mind. An ensemble cast and superb storyline. Definitely ranks at the top of my favourite shows.

Lol. Neither was Lewis Hamilton when he was winning most of his races (he moved to vegan lifestyle in 2017).

But there's merit in such movies. I don't strive to become completely vegan (or even 100% vegetarian); but I go for non-veg options only when there isn't a proper alternative that I am comfortable with.

Some of the examples included UFC champion Nate Diaz who defeated Conor McGregor, the US Olympic gold medalist in track cycling Dotsie Bausch, half of the NFL team Titans defense lineup and many more, including Lewis Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger who are all vegans.
I think you might be already aware lots of these folks weren't always vegan; or choose to do it once they achieved their initial goals (or as per their convenience). But no doubts about it, the meat consumption reduction is a clear argument, no differences about it. Especially in developed markets where the current meat consumption per individual is HUGE. Even just a 10% reduction in overall meat consumption can have massive impact.

I loved Industry when I had seen it (ironically I’d forgotten about this one, not sure why).

I actually am the opposite - I particularly enjoy British / UK based movies and shows and this one delivered true to promise. Even the character development as well as professional arc of many of the senior and junior professionals alike was developed very well.

A big thumbs up from me too. It’s a great watch.

This looks too good to be true. Moreover , there is no marketing / hype yet on this if it's just 5 days away from release.

They had taken nearly 3 years IIRC to launch the S2. S3 seems too quick for this.

But if this this is true, than

Fool Me Once - Netflix

3/5

Gripping, some good acting but the last episode was a bit messy

Fargo season 5 is turning out great so far! Great acting, builds up mystery and tension, some witty dialogues and your usual garnishing of Fargo style violence.
4/5

Earlier seasons are a mixed bag. Starts off great with S01 (4/5 IMO), S02 tapers off a little, S03 is good again and S04 is where I felt it reached the lowest point. S05 feels like its back to its roots and is as good as S01 (till now).

Its on Hulu/FX.

Time to rewatch (again) seasons 1 and 2. This is easily one of my top, go-to serials on TV.

My thoughts echo the same regarding the ebb and flow of the previous seasons. Just waiting for all the episodes to come out for Season 5 before I start to watch it.

Frasier 2023:
The original "Frasier" was just fantastic, one of the greatest comedies of all time, so it's not surprising to see many low-rated reviews on IMDB.

Kelsey Grammer embodies Frasier, you just believe the man is Frasier. The new series is a departure from the original, but with a modern touch to it and what works wonderfully for me is it does not try to be woke.

Our Man in India - 5/5

It's really nice to have James May back in India - he is certainly the more cultured of the lot. The Our Man in India series comes after his travels to Japan and Italy though there are some key differences such as traveling West to East rather than North to South due to India's sheer size while the number of episodes has been cut into half.

Somehow, I felt that James May is a lot more comfortable in India than in Japan or Italy and being an outsider can summarise India a lot better than a lot of us could.

I was concerned this would be filled with poverty porn like a lot of similar Western shows about India but this was made really well.

Aditi was intolerable for some reason, the colonization jokes got boring after the first couple of times. Also, traveling West to East leaves out a huge chunk of India - especially the South and Punjab though James May did specifically address this - the distance to be covered would be too vast.

All in all, a must-watch.

The Railway Men (Netflix)

An untold story of how brave people from the Indian Railways helped avert further disasters during the sad Bhopal Gas tragedy.

Having read Dominique Lapierre's book on the tragedy (Five past midnight), watching some of the events that lead to the gas leak had me engulfed in sadness. Reading about it was one thing, but seeing the events enacted on screen was heart breaking. Can't even begin to imagine the pain and suffering the people would have to endure :(

4/5

Frasier 2023: Rating it 3/5

Kelsey Grammer is the only birght spark in this otherwise mediocre attempt at a reboot. What it's missing is the easy comic relief delivered by Niles and Daphne, the mad shennanigans of Roz and Bulldog, and the human touch of Martin (and eddy!).
Its a good thing that this run was just 10 episodes, which in itself seemed a bit of a stretch. If they want to keep the audience engaged, the show definitely needs an influx of better charecters and much better screenplay.

I thought Aditi Mittal is a bit too loud in the trailer but her sense of Humor helped in the recovery. All-in-all: Good watch.

I too felt Aditi Intolerable to start with much like Yujiro in Japan. but much like Yujiro, some puns did land and sobered the Intolerance.

I hope there is a part 2 at some stage.

The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)-captains.jpg

Just finished watching Captains of the World on Netflix and I highly recommend it. Some of the behind the scenes footage was fascinating to watch, especially the part where Louis van Gaal makes some disparaging remarks about Messi, and then gets his comeuppance. The Messi interview with Sofi Martinez makes you tear up. You see Mbappe lift the team up at the half time of the finals. You see Modric work his magic. Lots of fascinating footage that shows what happens in a match situation.

There is match footage, but from unconventional angles. My main criticism for this 6 part mini-series is the editing. It feels very rushed at times with too many transitions and too many short bits crammed into a single sequence. This makes the viewing slightly exhausting at times.

In any case, its definitely worth a watch whether you are a football fan or not. The fact that Messi and Argentina won the final in what was arguably the greatest game ever is just the icing on the cake.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Just stumbled upon this TVF series on Youtube. Sapne vs Everyone.

I remembered watching Aspirants Season-1 the same way on YT and had similar expectations. Maybe not as good but not bad either. Its a good watch. TVF shows anyways usually have high standards & this one too is no different

Rating : 3.5/5

Just noticed a spin-off on the much loved character(Sandeep Bhaiya) from Aspirants as well. Will watch this next
