We could have shown footage of the rocket show like the Israelis do with their Patriot defence system, and declared victory. Russians would have given free lifetime warranty in gratitude.

Aggression without a purpose will hit diminishing returns rather quickly.
This is such a weak expectation and exactly the attitude that will stop India from becoming a super power. No retreat, no letting up, we need to go all agressive. Time has come for us to move out of colonial shackels of submission.

What you say happens when there are two rational actors on the field. If you have seen the speech of Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir's on 16th April, a week before the Pahalgam attack, you will realise what we are dealing with. (The speech is on YouTube; not posting it here since it would violate Team-BHP rules). He is a maniac. In Pakistan, as everybody knows, it is the army which rules; the civilian governments are just puppets.

Looks like it is going to be a long night. SM and Mainstream media is buzzing with Jammu drone swarm attack visuals and even speculating an F-16 is down.

This was an interesting choice of words. I think we could have gotten ahead of the curve by saying we lost a few jets, which also provides Pakistan with a de-escalation ladder: 'They attacked us, we shot down their jets.' I think if this was 1 jet, we may have gone this route. We've lost more than we are willing to admit, which is bad for both sides.

Now, it's all about saving face and ego—rationality, economics, and logic all go out the window when that happens. I expect Pak to milk this and get some concessions from the US.

Do combat aircraft sport external fuel probe (which is both drag and radar CS-inducing if I am not mistaken), on a real mission over enemy territory where tanker aircraft certainly cannot operate?

Unless it’s a doctored press briefing.
Yes, what you are referring to is a deepfake/AI doctored video.

Can you share the press briefing. What I'm seeing is a circular loop where news channels are reporting based on a twitter handle and news sites are reporting based on the news channel.

Edit: And Twitter handles are sharing those news sites as a source.

Re: War clouds after 26 Years

So far the informations coming out in the media, whether be it from India, Pakistan or the West are so confusing, it is impossible to know for a common man to ascertain what is exactly going on.

Indian Rafale being downed has been doing the rounds, the source being cited is an anonymous "Senior French Intelligence Personnel".

Another piece of news doing the rounds is 125 war planes in a historical dog fight between India and Pak. The source again being cited are "pak officials".

Wonder how long truths can be hidden in this era. Not even reputed news sources of any major country have been able to produce concrete news so far.
I am sure Pak is having it right, left and center.

Even the Wikipedia page is not being updated greatly. So many conflicting news everywhere. The best so far was the Pak Defence Minister getting it from CNN. When asked where were the evidences of Pak claims so far, like downing Indian planes, he sheepishly said "it is all over Indian social media". CNN anchor getting back to him with, "You are the defence minister".

This was the video probably like Hindu, it has been removed/deleted from the system. It’s a fake briefing but looked damn original. Even tried his lip syncing and looked real.

Re: War clouds after 26 Years

Let's not add to misinformation. Nobody knows what's going on & the ones who do won't be able to reveal anything.

I don't think India has lost any aircraft. This is because India hasn't really gone into Pakistan airspace.

Western media is unbelievably biased. I was shocked by the reporting of Pahelgam terrorist attack. India needs to figure out how we deal with NYT & telegraphs of the world.
For eg :- The South Asia bureau for NYT is led by a person with pak/afghani roots. NYT has a pronounced Chinese slant in many of its articles.
Unfortunately lot of westerners trust these biased mainstream media. I also used to - but highly biased coverage over the last few years has opened my eyes.

Thank you for sharing. This is scary because deep fake can make anything look legit. It took no time to go viral. I want to follow Indian news sites but instances like this make me believe there is no fact check mechanism in place - they favour sensationalism over accuracy.

I'm glad this forums discussion is moderated so we avoid most such content.

Re: War clouds after 26 Years

In Jammu army and airforce installations were attacked in the evening by drones and missiles, we got to see our anti drone and missile system working, it was fantastic to watch all the enemy systems neutralised, not even 1 got through,
Hats off to our armed forces, very proud to be an Indian today

Re: War clouds after 26 Years

Another inevitable seems to be on the cards is in form of military coup. It is given that present government of pakistan as well as Aseem muneer will loose it’s credibility and the only option left would be another military coup.
