I think it was explained in the thread. But in any case, the engine used to ahut down with a big shudder when switched off. That led me to check the mounts.

FYI, in all of my 32 years of driving various cars and interacting with fellow car users, I've found that engine mounts are the most neglected part while conducting repairs. People generally don't pay much attention to this.

@Raj: Then how come Raj sticker chap could not get a clean finish? Raj, I think you may look at another chap for the sticker/vinyl. Mansidea Scorp looks real clean.

Agreed! Mounts make a world of a difference.

@gd1418: He, he, madhouse sure it is, a useful one nevertheless :-) I have been following this thread (and the safari one too) on a daily basis since it kicked off. In fact, I used to feel a bit low on days there were no new posts - not that there were too many such days! The photos, mini discussions, etc all helped me decide on the vehicle and what to look for; cheers to all of you.

@Raj: Thanks, buddy! Give me a day or two to give an update on the vehicle, purchase decision and the photos; currently too excited to put thoughts down in an uncluttered manner here; know you will understand.

@Mathurji: Yep, the research has been on for so long and it was exasperating thanks to various minor roadblocks (details of purchase decision will be posted separately in a few days). But I believe the wait was worth it as I seem to have landed a fairly good vehicle, after all. And you are right - the vehicle really rocks!

Cheers,

Congrats Jammy,
That's one good looking Scorp! M&M calls this colour "ivory grey" (go figure!). Probably named after the tooth of an ageing elephant.

By the way, I have the very same alloys on my Scorp, except with slightly larger hub caps to accommodate the 4wD hubs. I've posted a couple of pictures earlier in this thread.

Have a great time with the Scorp. It's very addictive.
Cheers,
