Following are the details of the drive:

Date: Saturday, 20 March, 2010
Reporting Time: 8:30 am
Venue: VIT, Vellore

Job Description

• Remote management of client IT infrastructure like servers, OS, databases, network, etc
• Supporting Cognizant clients on troubleshooting issues relating to software, hardware & networking
• Understanding problems & providing remote technical resolution (telephone, mails and other tools)
• Escalating issues to specialized support groups for complex technical issues
• Coordinate on tracking status, providing updates & resolution confirmation

Eligibility

• BE / B Tech / ME / M Tech / MCA / M Sc (CS / IT / Software Engg).
• Year of Passing: 2008 batch only
• Consistent First Class (over 60%) in X, XII, UG and PG (if applicable)
• No standing arrears
• Candidates with degrees through correspondence / part time courses are not eligible
• Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills
• Willingness to work in shift operations (including night shifts)
• Willing to work in any Cognizant location across India

Candidate Checklist: Candidates to bring the following documents

Selection Process
• Step 1: Written Aptitude Test, followed by Technical & HR Interviews.

Few requirements for which we can pay really well long as you have good fundamentals, knowledge and attitude - PM me for more details. Note most positions are technical - No project and people management experience required and solicited.

1. Solid Drupal architects who know in and out of Multi-site, domains and have good understanding of SEO, Rich Media, Uber Cart/Can enhance Open source B2C eCommerce systems with AI based cross-sell/upsell algos, social networking integration experience and have hands on experience at scaling and tuning deployments with APCache, Nginx, Varnish, Memcache
No of positions :2 - can be in Hyderabad or NCR depending on your choice

2. Erlang developers (age and experience no bar) with experience of writing concurrent parallel large low-latency, high throughput system, anyone who contributed on RabbitMQ welcome.
@ hyderbad 2 position

3. Scala developers (age no bar, experience matters) - solid understanding, practical deployment, use of Lift framework - Assumed that the developer has a solid Java background so majority of things in (4) also apply.
@ Hyderabad 1 position.

4. Hands on Senior developers/Technical leads (6+ years of experience) who can program on Java using Spring, Hibernate/iBATIS with one or more Portlet Framework (Liferay, webcenter, Websphere) or a presentation framework like Struts, Wicket, SpringMVC and AJAX. Complete Java Build framework deployment capabilities on Maven and associated plugins, SVN/CVS, Cruisecontrol/Hudson, quality tools like use of Junit, PMD, checkstyle
Good knowledge of GoF pattern implementation in Java (keep J2EE aside for the moment). ability to tune across the layers in the middleware and the database. Knowledge of Industry strength DB (Oracle/DB2) as well as OSS (MySQL, postGreSQL)
Following are major pluses
a) work on any data caching technologies - Coherence, Gigaspaces, Ehcache
b) work on interworking a workflow system (H2H) in Java space - Intallio, Process server, Oracle BPEL, jBPM etc.
c) Spring Batch and Spring Integration added advantage
d) Integration and work with BRE - Drools, iLog, Oracle BRE
e) work with JCA adaptors with any commercial or OSS ESB (Mule, Oracle ESB, MQ, DataPower, Fiorano etc)
Total No of positions: 8 across Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta

5. Java developers who have used OWL, RDF, RDFS and frameworks like Jena or Apache UIMA - are conversant with Semantic concepts and technologies and capable of working in R&D centric projects for either entiry recognition, new semantic tool development.
2 positions in Hyderabad

6. Infrastructure technical leads who can architect and deploy Open source for all ITIL tasks and have worked using OSS frameworks like Nagios, Groundworks etc for monitoring. Majotiry of work is in capability building and in remote infrastructure monitoring automation. Should be capable of setting programming all integration between point solutions in open source infrastructure solutions and broader engine like Nagios.
