Its a myth,nothing really happens. though once i did have a stomach upset when i had fish which was washed down with a glass of chilled strawberry milkshake

Well its not really a myth,the reason for this is because milk and meat or fish if taken together becomes toxic for the body.But this is also a fact that some people have a strong digestive fire within(as per Ayurveda) and this almost over-rides some of the effects associated with unscientific food combination.The question then is there are so many fish dishes cooked in curd (Goan fish curry,Kerala fish curry etc)-the operative word here is-the curd is cooked.In general meat and fish is not eaten together with raw dairy products and each one would have their own explanation to itAs for the patch on the skin thing-well thats definitely a myth.

Spike_Arrestor@ Perhaps we belong to that lucky band with strong digestive fire as Ranjit termed it. I too have never faced any issue so far though many of my relatives take care not to have curd and fish together.

There is also a Bengali delicacy Doi Maach which is fish cooked in Curd.

My mother wouldn't give us milk after a NV meal - the reason being possibility of a stomach upset. Eating meat/poultry/fish with milk/milk products is also a strict taboo in Jewish Kosher rules.

I am from Alleppey, but to be frank, I have never had fish curry made in yoghurt. We use raw sliced mango, fresh coconut milk for some recipes, but I am not sure of a traditional Kerala fish curry made of yoghurt.

When I first read this, I was thinking of Fish Mo(i)lee, but later realized that it is also fish cooked in Coconut Milk.

I don't think curd or milk will cause any issues.
One of most common dishes while growing up used to be curd mixed with some rice and sugar. This was typically eaten with some fried chicken, prawns, fish, meat or beef.

This is still one of my favorite combinations.

Another favorite combination used to be whole wheat rotis soaked in a lot of milk. I would eat this followed by some meat.

The human stomach contains hcl. I don't think we need to worry about the effect of meats etc on milk. The hcl itself is anyways going to break it (milk) down.

Woah, my myth question raked up a lot of answers

I was told curd + prawns (not fish or other seafood) is not a good combination.

Anyways, i too have never taken the risk and stayed away from curd whenever iam having Prawn ( and, fish too just to be on safe side)

Yeah, it's Rs.125. Infact, a till a few months ago i think it was Rs.115. It was never Rs.175

I have tried it many times Bajaj Sahb.It is run a Punjabi couple and the paratha's are yummy. My favorite use to be Pyaaz and Methi Paratha.

The only irony with this place is that they do not serve N-Veg Parathas (Not even egg). The Paratha's are priced between 15-20Rs.

Had SR in a few other popular places where its supposed to be good but, nothing comes close to Mega City.

Never expected this, but, the Sambhar Rice at Haveli at Begumpet too is quite good. I have never been to Megha before, but I am quite sure that it will please you. Its quite generous in quantity, is spicy and is served piping hot with just the right amount of viscosity. Sambhar Rice with freshly made papads is a must try at Haveli.
Another place where I have lip smacking SR is my office canteen . Just kidding.
