Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Wow! Did not know we had a thread going on this subject.

I retired on 31st March, 2014; but did not remove the PF since one could keep the funds there for three years w/o any contribution. The three years would be up by March 2017. The Government had recently announced that 'dormant' PF accounts can continue to earn interest even after 3 years. Though i have not been able to read the official notification, common sense dictates that this would apply to members who are <60 years old.

My question is whether i should close my PF account by 31st March 2017 or can continue with it? No sense continuing it if it does not bear any interest, and if it would be a nightmare trying to withdraw it after being 'dormant' for 3 years.

Would appreciate advise.

Any idea when the UAN Member portal will be back online?

Same issue here. I tried using both Mozilla and Chrome browsers. The new page that opens up when I click on 'view/ download passbook' simply hangs!

Thanks. Downloading passbooks seems to be leading to a 500/Server not responding error!

The Online Transfer Claim Portal (http://memberclaims.epfoservices.in/) also seems to be down. Was that also revamped?

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

I had raised a ticket for being unable to download the PF passbook. I got a call after a month or so saying there is a bug in the system which prevents anyone to download the passbook. It will be sometime before they fix it. The lady on the call asked me to give missed call to a number (011 22 901 406) and I can get the balance. The condition is, my KYC documents should be uploaded by my Employer on their portal.

Unfortunately, my employer hasn't and hence, I couldn't know my balance. Does anyone know the work around for this problem too?

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

I had put through a request in December through my former employer to withdraw my PF as i am no longer employed in India. First week of January i got an intimation that my request has been sent to the PF Office along with the seal from my employer. Yesterday i was informed that the amount was credited to my bank account.

Despite the initial timeline specified of about 30-60 days for the same, i was amazed to have the withdrawal request processed within 2 weeks! Interestingly, i do not yet have a UAN number, as i had left prior to this being implemented.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

When I visit "View->Service history" on the new website I can only see my present company details .

Can anyone view their entire service history ? The EPS pension will be calculated based on the years of service , so the complete service history is important.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Is anyone aware of a Mumbai-based PF agent who can resolve a case of PF transfer stuck between Mumbai and Delhi?

Friend's been looking for one since he can't travel himself. The case is of a PF transfer on changing employers and the old employer hasn't been of much help sadly.

Thanks. Currently the website is down and doesn't open at all. I will give it a try in a few days. Let's see if it works.

I used the help desk link on their website and gave my details and a description of the problem I am facing. I got a confirmation message of my complaint and after few weeks, I got a call from someone who told me that their website has a defect.
