Could be plantar fasciitis. How old are you? I am not a doctor but faced similar issue after I started wearing a particular running shoes. Doctor suggested gel inserts and stretching and the pain gradually subsided in a few months. The gel inserts are available in any medical store. Stretching exercises are available online. I also used a golf ball to massage the heels somewhat similar to using foam rollers.

There is continuous pain in my left foot after i was doing a fast walking for an hour 2 weeks back. The surface is concrete to be precise and started fast walking after a gap of 40 days in this lockdown period.
First i thought it might be a mild sprain and started applying Volini spray + Ice Pack, But the pain continue to be there for more than 2 weeks now. The pain is specifically in the Fascia ligament and heel bone area. I stopped fast walking once the pain started.
The pain is not severe, but it is mild and continuous. There was mild swelling in the beginning in the ankle but it is not there now. I could say the pain is increasing a bit when try to stretch the toe.
I thought of visiting an Orthopedic Surgeon, but little hesitant to visit hospital at this situation unless if it is really required.
Can you please suggest how I should treat it?
Orthopedic surgeon specializing in Joint replacement in Bangalore. It's unlikely to be plantar fasciitis. But there are several causes of foot pain. Injury, Tendinitis and claudication come to mind. It will need a detailed evaluation to confirm. Meanwhile, do try contrast bathing, heel stretches and MCR footwear/ silicone insoles.

Thanks. I am 37 years old. I also suspected my beaten up shoes and changed to Gel Contended ones last week. let me see if it is getting better by using it.

Yesterday I sprained my back real bad when putting down a heavy shopping basket. I knew I was in trouble the very instant. The pain worsened when the back extended when trying to sit in a chair later in the day. Now, I can't stand without support.

Today being Sunday, no doctors are available and the earliest appointment I managed is a video consultation tomorrow morning.

What all can I do until then to improve the condition. Currently on alternate hot and cold press along with acetophenac and combiflam.

You're doing the right thing. DO try to consult someone physically. Video consultations are not very useful in backache.

I know, but in the current situation, this was what I could manage. Anyways, I was not even in a state to stand up without support, so going to a doctor was a difficult proposition. Anyways, the doctor has suggested bed rest for a min of 3 days and exercises post the pain reduction. I am planning to visit a physiotherapist once my condition improves.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Requesting some advice from Ortho/ Sports Doctors or Physios here.

I had Tenosynovitis due to overuse injury on my right (playing) hand in 2015. At the time, I was in the US and the doctor advised me to use wrist support and give up squash for some time. I did that and the injury seemed to heal over a six month period.

In 2017, I started playing again and by Dec 2017, the wrist had worsened again. I gave up Squash/ Badminton and started using different medicines - showed this to a sports physio here in Ahmedabad who suggested Ultrasounds, followed by an ortho surgeon who suggested rest and some Vit tablets. Late last year I showed this to a doctor at the Safdarjung Sports Injury institute and the doctor suggested rest and Tendocare Forte tablets.

Its been 6 months of having some Tendocare tablets on and off, no heavy lifting, no bodyweight exercises etc but the wrist still has some sensation - enough to keep me noticing it when I try to do anything with the right hand. For eg. when I sleep, I use a separate pillow to rest the wrist. Does anyone know if there is a permanent solution for this? I have the required MRIs etc and can share the same if needed.

PS: I also went to the Guggi pehelwan in Delhi and got his medicines - everything seems to work for the first 5 days and then weans off. By now I have tried desi/ ayurvedic/ Homeopathy/ ortho/ physio/ sports physio

You have not specified which tendon is inflamed. The other options that could be tried are a Local Steroid injection and failing that, surgery. Do share the images.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Dear Pediatrician/General Physician, a suggestion needed please.

Our 3 year old son has developed this habit of urinating frequently, very frequently, like in every 10-15 minutes throughout the day. Has been doing this for the past 1 week. He had a dengue fever for 4 days two weeks back. Apart from that no other abnormalities.

How do we go about with this. A doctor visit would be needed?

Hi!
This does not sound normal. It might be due to many reasons. I would advise an appointment with your pediatrician right away. It could be just urinary tract infection but its persisting for a week now.

Dont mean to scare or diagnose but my colleagues son had a similar issue and was found to be type 1 diabetic.

A urinary tract infection would be a relief and hope it is as simple as that.

Thank you!

Just back from a pediatric consultation.

Prescribed: Hydration normal, Systems normal, ENT normal.

And recommended for:
  • Urine routine and culture
  • GRBS
  • Follow up with results and consider USG abdomen if required.

Did the GRBS - 125 mg/dl (Nurse said normal)

Going to give sample for routine and culture.

Neither a doctor myself nor have any affiliations with Grover eye hospital.

My grandmother got her cataract surgery done by Grover eye hospital some 8-9 years back and she is doing fine. You can consult them.

Urine routine normal, grbs normal, USG (spleen, bladder, kidneys..etc) normal. The pediatrician referred to another pediatric nephrologist. He said to track the timings of urination and measure each time and create a log. Said will look at the pattern and discuss further steps.

Not sure what is going on.
