Just bought an original FCUK aviator (model# FCU228) for about 3.5K. Looks stunning with the light purple tint and large-ish side arms.

does anybody know what would the appoximate price of an authentic prescription sunglass from oakley. Here in US you can get a polarized and mirrored glass for around 300$, which usually retails for around 150$ non prescription. (sportrx.com).

is it about the same in india?

Rayban Sidestreet, bought in 2003, still in pretty good condition that I've not felt the need of buying another one.

A prescription sunglass from Ray-ban will cost approximately double that of an off the shelf one here, so it must hold good for oakley too, if it is available in prescription form.

Sunglasses, prescription or otherwise are much cheaper to buy in the US compared to any other place including India. Same for frames and lenses.

I don't think so Khoj.

I don't know where you are located. If you are in the US compare the price for a normal single vision CR39 lens.

Or better still, find out how much Essilor Titus costs there. Here it costs 450 per pair.

how easy it is to get a mirrored coating or polarized lens in India. Here only these branded shops seem to offer it. Otherwise I have ordered 8$ glasses from chinese sites for regular use, but they triple or more for photochromatic, and no polarized/mirrored coating.

Try the Maui Jim range. They are kinda expensive.

Prescription polarized lenses are available from Essilor- Drivewear and Carl Zeiss- Skypol.

Should set you back by 3500 to 5000 a pair. Check with your optician.
