Saw Pankaj Kapoor's Dharm today. Brilliant movie, a must watch!!!

Nitin

Just back from 8X10 Tasveer. The movie deserves 3 out of 5. Brilliant acting by Akshay, Javed Jafri. Aayesha is a waste as usual. Awesome shots and brilliant screen play. Found a bit irritating as the same scene comes in front of your eyes every 10 mins!

I watched this on Tuesday. I read a few reviews here and a few on imdb. The reviews were all 4 stars and more.

Being a big fan of Anurag Kashyap I knew this one was going to be a good one but was I Shocked !! This was Excellent !!!

The movie is based on Rajputana ( Rajputs ), College Politics and a bit of how the youth is dragged into politics unwillingly and the side effects of it on the young.

The movie has some Brilliant award winning performances by Kay Kay / Piyush Mishra and others.

I think Piyush Mishra did a fantastic job. His acting was top notch ! And so were the songs / music sang by him and composed as well I beleive.

Mahi Gill is brilliant and is the next big thing in Bollywood. She resembles Tabu so much ( she says this as well in the movie )

Overall a brilliant movie. Watch it for the acting and brilliant cinema.

BUT - the movie is very serious and leaves you thinking. Also a word of caution. There is a ot of abusive language in the movie. So be prepared before hand if you are going with your family.

Rating - 4.5 / 5

I am now looking forward to Firaaq, Barah Aana & Tasveer.

PS - FYI the multiplexes are not going to show any new movies after 4th April. Some strike going on between Multiplex Owners and the directors / producers on profit sharing. This is an indefinite strike which can last upto a few weeks. Just saw this news on NDTV / CNN.

Dude, i know that i am being late to comment on this but very good review. Even i had the same feeling about the movie.agree: I decided to go for this movie the moment i come know that there is a new movie coming from Anurag. I feel all the characters are nicely used in the movie and did their job so well. I must say that Indian cinema is doing lot of experiences now as there are many new directors and actors are coming in the industry.

I my wish list i have Siddharth, Barah Aana, Firaq, Tasveer and Yeah Fast & Furious 4. clap:

Looks like something taken from Vantage Point ?

Saw Maharathi last weekend.
I enjoyed the movie a lot, nice story, good acting and none of the usual masala.
+ it has Neha Dupia <3
a must watch.

cheers

Watched another little gem - The Blue Umbrella. Pankaj Kapoor is definitely one of the finest actor we have ever had.

8X10 Tasveer: 2/5

Nothing great about the movie. A supernatural thriller about a man who has the gift of looking into the past using a photograph. Too many loophloes and disconnect spoils the movie. Plus the director tries too hard to make the story eventful and mysterious. But he fails.

What is good ? Akshay is not doing slapstick.
Only javed jaffery could have played the role he did.
BRILLIANT cinematography. I think it was shot in SA, and it looked beautiful.

SA ? Or was it Canada?

Saw Parzania few days back. What a wonderful movie. (I dont know if the portrayal is true to original but acting wise and story telling was wonderful).

Saw Firaaq before that. I agree that the movie is not biased. It captures human emotion after such tragic incidents and how it still haunts people.

Indie movies are doing quite a good work these days. I am very relieved that the mindless comedies are taking a back seatclap:

The movie says it is Canada, but a friend told me that it has actually been shot in SA.

Leave it n_c, not worth a shot.

I Had the mosfortune of watching Tasveer on saturday nite(went to watch F&F but couldnt get the tickets then).:Frustrati
One of the biggest mistakes i did by watching this movie.
Rubbish is an understatement.

I dont know how many people have seen the movie 'Next' starring Nicholas cage but this one and the Neil nitin mukesh one is inspired from that.

Don't know whats wrong with Akshay now. He has forgotten which movie to choose and is doing same kind of acting in everyone(maybe he needs some free classes from Aamir).

Loose story, pathetic direction, goofy acting specially by Javed, Ayesha does a sleepwalk role. The only thing i loved was the location(canada or SA is debatable).

Rating - .5/5 (that too for location)

Saw two movies Aloo Chat & Straight

Straight - Yawn, looks like they have filmed a Play & I dont know why but all Vinay Pathak movies feel the same off late even if the stories are different

1.5/5

Aloo Chat - Nothing new barring a few funny scenes the movie is just OK.

2/5

Ek se Bure do

Was one of the unfortunate ones to watch it last Friday at Spice PVR, Noida.
All that there is in the film is mindless shouting, stupid item numbers and total chaos.
The climax is a poor attempt to copy JBDY, but no where near that.

Total waste of time and money.
