You will never regret not watching it . Never thought i would say that for a Kamal movie :Frustrati

I'm not sure how its turned out in Hindi, but I enjoyed watching it in tamil.
Granted the plot is wafer thin but there is enough inbetween to keep you entertained. Kamal's acting is unsurpassed although the quality of makeup was disappointing.

Watched Gulaal over the weekend. The movie is excellent. The acting, the direction, the lyrics are just superb. The other Hindi movie that comes the closest to it is probably Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi.

This is one of those rare movies which can be rated 5/5.

Golmaal Returns

Sequels rarely live up to the original, and this one is no different. It feels like it was put together, just for the heck of it.

Paresh Rawal and Sharman Joshi are the notable absentees, and Shreyas Talpade fills the void.

The usual play-dumb routine fails to evoke any favourable responses, and Kareena's character gets really nagging. Arshad Warsi is the only one who i felt was barely noteworthy in this film, while the others can be ignored.

Dont waste your time, if you have anything better to do..

Bennyboy Rating : *1/2

Watched Stoneman Murders.

Rating : 4/5

I Dont expect intelligent comedies when it comes to Hindi cinema as the mindless ones are more fun to watch. But i went with lots of expectations to see this one and was huge disappointment. Crap is the word to describe this.

Agreed. I wasnt expecting any intelligent comedy when i watched Golmaal, but it was still fun to watch. It returns however in a totally nonsensical package.

The era of intelligent comedies is over. Long live Hrishikesh Mukherjee!

I watched it in Tamil and liked it very much. There are so many layers of story and sub-plot woven into the main story. I have never seen a tamil movie debated so much on the net with so many different interpretations. However, you need to look beyond the amateurish makeup and few histrionics that are required to keep the cash registers ringing....

However, I really don't know how will the movie work with Hindi, given its links to Tamil History and use of different dialects. I am sure it will not be as good as it was in Tamil.

I am attaching a review from a blog which very much reflected my take on the movie....

In the end, you need to ask yourself, in the Creative Void where most Tamil movies seem to languish these days, how many films dare even put ideas and concepts in a mass entertainer, and while the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004 has been mentioned, crudely in comedic punchlines in most movies, and disgustingly inserted into a song lyric in one, Dasavatharam dares to culminate in its actual depiction. As the mile high waves cascade down and wash people and property away, it ties up plot threads, inter-connects others and bridges a 12th century plotline on religious discord to 21st century musings on Religion and Causality. That takes creativity and guts..in regretfully short supply elsewhere on the Tamil Cine Landscape.

Anbe Sivam's sermons on Socialism and Marxism married to the Road Movie a little too hard to swallow?

Aalavandhan's psychedelic psycho thriller a little too unpalatable?

Hey Ram's reactionary approach to Gandhi's pacifism wedded to art house sensibilities too glacially paced for your liking?

Well, a swig of Dasa may be just what the doctor ordered.

Golmaal was quiet good, return wasn't even 10% of it.
The most mindless one i had seen is 'kya kool hai hum'. Saw it cos we had nothing to do that day and i really enjoyed it to the hilt. In fact i could not see anyone in the hall who wasn't in splits watching it.

So any new good hindi movies coming soon?

Gulaal is indeed a very good movie. The star is terrific and the dialogues are also very well written and delivered.

Saw 8X10 Tasveer last night

The movie starts on a rather un-necessary Khiladi Stunt of Akshay. This is done just for the heck of it & wasn't needed at all. The movie moves with a fast pace in the first 30 minutes, a bit too fast.
Javed Jaffery has acted well though one never knows what his mental ailment is(is it memory loss, or erratic behavior as it keeps changing).

Some shots/part of the movie are good, some just dont make any sense and the end is totally unexpected but isnt justified at all.

Damn another case of brilliant story & poor execution, didnt expect this from Nagesh.

Rating- 2/5

Hey all any good movies releasing today?? I am lost!! got no clues.
